It's a real treat to see his vocabulary evolve in real time. But other than the constant "Anisa and I" and the words you've mentioned, and maybe the word "communicate" and "process my trauma/feelings", his Ian-isms are still very undercooked. EDIT: I forgot he also really enjoys saying "talking MAD SHIT" all the time.

His language is so soaked in therapy that he thought his coach needed to "communicate" better with him. Like, Ian, did you ever think to, I dunno, maybe TALK with him? Not "communicate" and "share your feelings" and "setting boundaries" and "share past trauma". Maybe just fucking talk with him, like using regular sentences. I also really liked when, on the stream where he was "debunking" his disgraced boxing coach, he said he was "spittin'", as in spittin mad facts. Like some 90's gangsta. He also says "fuggin" instead of "fucking" a lot, because he's a cuck that can't enunciate his words.

Ian has developed a signature laugh already though. His forced and coping "hehehahahaha" when making fun of H3 or laughing at something Hasan does. He still needs a catch-phrase that can be abreviated though, like DTPN or TMDWU.

You're totally wrong on this. The words have been in use since 1946 and a clear distinction between the two from the very beginning. You can find videos and articles going back 10-15 years explaining the concepts. It's been a pretty foundational concept in psychology for decades, and even the common layman understands they're supposed to be different instinctively, if only just because they're different words. Watch some old crime shows from the 80s and 90s and you might hear a cop say "he has no empathy for his victims."

Sympathy = "I feel bad for you."
Empathy = "I understand what you're feeling."

Now, pretentious idiots often use the word "empathy" as a "smarter version" of sympathy, like Ian, or don't really get what makes them different. Ian is one of those people who throws it around as a fancy buzzword to make himself sound educated and a good person, when really he's a pseudo-intellectual dickhead.

But it's not that the word changed meaning, it's that now that people have better access to information they can pick up "smart" words and use them easier, even if they're using them totally wrong.
