The problem with this line of thinking is you want the US government, the worst price negotiators in history, whohave a history of paying $5000 for a basic toilet seat among other things, to do the negotiating to get the price down.

Your idea sounds good until you look at the parties involved, and getting the government involved would be big pharma and the AMA'S dream outcome.

government already negotiates prices of pills by way of medicare and medicaid and they have much more negotiation power since they represent such a large block of consumers.
private insurance almost always pays more for service than the government does.

On the other hand this is why you'll see a lot of doctors/organizations not accept medicaid.
like if you try to get a psychiatrist or something with medicaid, it's not going to happen.

they have no incentive to do that because they make more money on people with private insurance.
it's much easier to find a doctor if you are on private insurance.

At this point, I’m not even sure generational titles matter. According to The Internet, everyone over 30 is a “boomer,” and obviously that includes Gen X and my millennials.

It’s been all hellfire and brimstone for years now, and I don’t think when you grew up or what you encountered matters anymore. It was easy to say in the past that “this generation sucks because I’m older and I said so!” But it is really not that easy anymore.

Are we supposed to forget the entire of last 4 years or something? Boer Afrikaaners DO need to be moved to the front of the line if we're going by most urgent humanitarian emergency. They're losing everything and have nowhere to go although allegedly Russia and Australia took some in. Almost every country has not only denied that they're being genocided and stolen from, but actively refuse to let them in because of racial politics. Haiti, Somali, Pakistan aren't emergencies, that's just how they are and always will be and there's no shortage of suicidal nations that will take them in by the millions.

I've never known the left, in my lifetime, to have ever been the "live and let live types"... never. Maybe very moderate Democrats, but the "Left" in general...nope.
