Also we really need a schizo sticker, I suggest a tinfoil hat.
I like the idea of a tinfoil hat, but it should be used for conspiratard type ramblings.

The biggest loss with the merge of Community Watch, Animal Control, Internet Famous and such are the special rules given to these board in order to not have visitors shit on the threads for easy updoots.

Maybe posts with a specific prefix should have some specific rules, shown to the user when reading the thread. That way you harbor discovery without giving carte-blanche for the usual thread shitters.

How were these boards moderated differently? There was a vague condition about not "lamenting the fandom" in AC but that was it.

Is it possible to add a text filter for Youtube links? Youtube has started adding a tracking id to links like https://youtu.be/3BFTio5296w?si=xdbcuwk-drCQhav0 and some people are too lazy to remove it when they share a Youtube link so it would be nice if it could automatically get removed in the interest of not giving Youtube any data to collect (just like the http referrer header).

Those sort of threads tends to be shat upon whenever they get featured on the front page or community happenings. Chances that the new people that only lurks on the lolcow boards will start filling those threads by "lamenting the fandom". Since there's no longer this explicit rule, people would tend to do so and ironically make the board a worst place overall.

I'm open for threads and cows to be more visible to others as long as it doesn't ruin the overall feel of those threads.

Really in simple words: having rules depending on which prefix is used. Preserves cohesion like in the former boards, while broadening the audience like you intend to.

Privating your profile should day ban the user and change their profile description to be "dumb nigger tried to private his profile hahaha"
And of course do the same to all profiles with it already activated. Theres no reason why the fruitbird drama forum should be deprived of in-house lols

One minor suggestion/tweak, if this hasn't been mentioned, is being able to insert quotes while editing a post, assuming I'm not retarded and there's a way of doing that already.

⏰ me if this has already been suggested, but when a thread has a label (lolcow, careercow, deceased, etc.) it'd be great if you could click on it and get redirected to a list of all threads with the same label.

The change to underline latest watched and community feature submissions (if intentional) feels wrong to me, I don't like it visually. The merging is nice I guess, I don't really follow any of the lolcows so I don't have a strong opinion.

I assume everyone's getting the error 153 on all youtube embeds?
I am, on librewolf 143.0.3-1.

I would like a next highlight button at the bottom of a post, which would help speed up getting up to speed on a thread you are new to.

It would probably be complicated but it would be cool to see the replies to a specific post

I can potentially get on board with the mass merge into lolcows, and the expanded trending is cool, but removing the replies counter and time posted for all the threads in the sidebar makes the whole element a little useless. You don't know anything about a thread, or if people are replying, you just know it exists.
Between all the regular threads being contained in its own subforum and nothing on the sidebar giving any indication if anyone's actually participating in them, the whole thing gives the initial impression of being way smaller and less active.

I assume what's going on with the sidebar is that it needs to be short enough to not extend past the main body of the home page. If space is the issue, is the "users logged in" pane even used for things? Could that possibly be shortened, rather than removing post info about threads in the sidebar (besides trending obviously)?

It's all very depressing, it was only today upon seeing that Total BMJ Death is back on the table that my mood was lifted enough to install the spooky pfp.

PS: Community Watch still feels like it would be better off as its own separate thing. Those aren't even necessarily about lolcows, half the time it's just discussion about touhous or videogame modding or whatever.

PPS: I assume everyone's getting the error 153 on all youtube embeds? At least on firefox and tor.

It's sort of nice that it more clearly indicates it's something you can click on at least.

You can toggle between BB Code editor:
BBCode off.jpg
The above is “off” position, normal text, as it appears. The following is how to toggle it on:
BBCode on.jpg
It’s easy to cut & past when in the bbcode editor. You can toggle between the two, even to come back later to edit a post, such as to add a new quote in after you’ve already posted something.

i dont know anything about this sort of thing, but this is happening for me on fuckbook...as of last night, youtube links wont work, and when i directly uploaded videos i saved from youtube, they were immediately copyright struck and muted. something has changed i guess.

1. click +Quote of post you want to quote OR highlight the text of the post you want to quote and click the +Quote in the dialog that pops up
2. click in your post where you want to insert the quote
3. click the Insert quotes... button at the bottom of the post editing window, next to the Attach files button
4. click Quote messages button in the dialog

Big Boys is a fucking gay name and it hurts my soul every time I see it in the main page. It reminds me of an 80's hair band or a kids movie about fat camp. Those three exceptional individuals each have their own self sustaining ecosystems built up to the point that they really deserve their own sub forums. It did not make the site too cluttered to have them listed individually on the main page. If you're going to roll back any changes, do that one first.
