I’ve always had a sour taste for the show because of that ultra preachy climate change ending, which for those who don’t know, is the final episode of the show and it ends with Earl causing the ice age and killing the entire planet because “I was put in charge of the world, and I didn’t take very good care of it.” It’s the least subtle thing in the history of television

I'm fully convinced at this point, especially with Indian and even (relatively to their highs) African TFRs falling off a cliff in the past few years, that humanity just doesn't realize it works like any other animal. Breed to overcapacity, die-off to undercapacity, repeat forevermore. The population boomed over the last ~200 years because humanity expanded to fill the space it created during the industrial revolution via fertilizer, mechanized farming, antibiotics, hygiene, skyscrapers, motorization, and I'm sure I'm forgetting dozens of other things. That boom is over and the only way to get a bigger boom would be colonizing another friendly-to-human-life planet, some kind of highly successful post-apocalypse rebuild, or some unknown unknown discovery waiting to be made.

You certainly can't keep importing Africans/Indians because A) It induces more breeding in Africa/India, and B) It causes more overpopulation in the victim country. But once you let nations be nations again it isn't like any human subspecies will just disappear naturally.

For instance, I didn't understand just how dystopian the UK was until she posted about how she can't send her kids to whatever they call non-government run schools despite working in pharma. Like, move to Boston, lady, why are you keeping your kids on Jimmy Saville Island if you're in one of the industries that's a gold rush and full of Green Card holders in the US? Something else to consider is that the American federal government has been gradually built to spend tons of money annually and is often expanding. Historical and current trends show us is that it has been growing in size and scale for a long time now.

But I'm here for that. We have enough nuclear warheads ready to launch at a moment's notice, enough to probably wipe out the entire world 17 times over. Why are we still putting so much money into defense? Last time I checked being able to push a button and leaving the entire planet to cockroaches was pretty much the final boss of defense.
There's always going to be local stuff that needs to be taken care of on a local level and that's a different story, but the feds have gotten used to a blank check at our expense and I'm quite frankly sick of it.
