Key exception being Henya who is a genuinely wholesome hafu idiot who keeps signing up with dogshit corpos because she's naive and doesn't know any better. A lot of her appeal comes from her not really understanding western culture or slang and trying to make sense of it. Formerly known as Pikamee, who was one of the earliest bilingual vtubers and thus one of the first ones non-weebs were exposed to, and also the one that trannies tried to crucify over the mere mention of the possibility of potentially playing the Harry Potter game at some point. She's the only normal one and doesn't deserve to be lumped in with the rest. Here's a video of her calling out her coworkers for being whores:

I found Henya charming from the clips I have seen. I don't understand what kind of idiot designed her model though.
Between the chest diamond cut out (dude, why would you even?) and the disproportionate eyes compared to the face, the model looks so off. Which is a shame because the rigging is good.

True. I recall the five of them had a little segment during the Hololive convention and it was so fucking awkward. Gura, Ame, and Ina barely spoke and were clearly super nervous and uncomfortable. Calli was also very nervous but she showed it by yammering about her cringe wigger shit like how her favourite letter is G for gangsta. Kiara tried to hold it all together since she's the only one with social skills but she's an attention whore so I was never into her to begin with. I don't think I've ever gelled with any EN Hololive talent - most of gen 2 were boring as shit to me. Fauna was just green Lamy, I have no idea what people saw in her. Sana was a nepo hire who completely wasted her opportunity because 'muh bad back' (despite chuubing being one of the most bad back friendly jobs you can get, since you can do it laying down if you mount your monitor over your bed. She was just lying so she could draw more gachaslop if you ask me). Mumei is like... she exists. Kronii hates herself and resents her coombait model. I'll say Ratto is probably my favourite EN because she has personality and insane Japanese skills (her total hatred of Mario Kart is pretty funny) but I still wouldn't go out of my way to watch her.
 
Is anyone else's interest in a vtuber more centred around what type of games they play more than what they are like as a character/person?
It would honestly be difficult for me to watch a vtuber I like play a game I don't like, or a game that is fundamentally boring to watch (like minecraft or a static VN, or god forbid a chatting stream)

I'm one of the most die-hard Gura/Saba fans here or on TVA, but I check out of her rhythm game streams once she starts playing, even though she's extremely good at them, because she has to concentrate fully on the game and just listening to button clicks and confirmation sound effects isn't engaging.

Granted I like VNs, but I'd rather those than the typical "streamer" games where it's just a job simulator, or the FotM game that will be forgotten about a week after its completed.

I only watched Lia from Phase when she played Final Fantasy cause I'm a Final Fag but I'm like that with people in general, especially if it's their first time.
 
Any vtuber who talks about political stuff, even if they agree with me. I go to vtubers to get away from that stuff. If I wanted to know how fucked the world is, I'd just browse the Articles & News subforum
