I was trying to say that while I'm not a fan of the guy, I still don't think he should have been shot for expressing his views.
Same here, I found Kirk to be as milquetoast as a MAGA SpongeBob, but what happened to him and his poor family is unequivocally monstrous.

Killing someone because it thinks different than you is as gay as fucking a male tranny in its axe wound.
Charlie's shooter did both, and for that, he is contender for "Ultimate Faggot of the Century"™ award.

I do agree with you, but my response was more of a refutation of this faux "Who really knows why he did what he did? lol" sentiment from a lot of people which I see as pretty transparent gaslighting.
it is. The same people have written entire articles about how violent the alt right is. Now that the shooter is probably a leftists and and it's a very clear act of political violence we shouldn't care who he was or what he believed.

Redditors were saying at the beginning that the shooter was a white straight conservative christian ( only the white part ended up being true) . Why was that relevant if we shouldn't care who did it?

It's cope and denial. Anything to draw blame away from their rhetoric.

I'm sorry, I should have phrased that better.

I was trying to say that while I'm not a fan of the guy, I still don't think he should have been shot for expressing his views.
Yeah the problem nowadays is did you "really" not like that guy, or did you not like some fake version that somebody had constructed through manipulation and editing.

The other big problem is people assuming their personal feelings are adequate moral judgements. Some perfectly fine and decent people can just rub one the wrong way for some personality reason. The truly wise learn this and judge fairly. The fools go crazy trying to explain that their hatred must prove the other person is Hitler.

I just find his takes on political issues miss the point of the argument and he tended to assume he was right even while promoting open debate with leftists.

Doesn't mean I think he deserved to get murdered.

Over on Yahoo! JAPAN news, there's a story about the CK assassination. One of the comments on the story:

I think Japan's foresight in valuing harmony is emphasized when we look at the world today. It's not about how to defeat, but how to harmonize. Being able to question this requires cultural maturity. Western societies, China, Africa, and the Middle East have not been able to overcome the primitive impulse to defeat the other and achieve victory. One reason is that they are unable to overcome the illusion of a "contract between the individual and God," based on monotheism. Nothing is more convenient for self-justification and the denial of others. This is because it is a way of thinking that can turn other people's beliefs and gods into evil. On the other hand, in Japan, God resides in all things, and we have the foundation for caring about what others hold dear. Rather than the condescending attitude of Western noblesse oblige, we can care for others from an equal perspective. I think Japan should be more confident in spreading these values.
(posted at カーク氏射殺の容疑者拘束、トランプ氏が明らかに…米報道「暴力のスパイラルに陥っている」)

That may sound noble and an ideal. But harmony with a hostile organization is not easy. As one can see from the words and actions of the "woke", that Cult of Progress always demonizes anyone who is not "woke" as "far right", "Nazi", etc. And SJWs clearly do not want harmony. SJWs want power, even if it is through violence. And that "ideology" of "identity politics" is objectively and demonstrably corrosive and false. But like I said, I doubt everyone in that "woke" cult is a bad person who wants power. Some SJWs may genuinely believe they really are on "the right side of history", and one day there could be "fully automated luxury gay space communism", once "social justice" is achieved.

Nice idea but it wasn't too long ago that Shinzo Abe was assassinated with an improvised firearm.

Values such as Rape of Nanjing and Unit 731.

And I'd believe the Japs "care for others from an equal perspective" when men who expressed unfemininst wrongthink weren't made to step down.

TBF that was the military along with a tyrannical Axis-allied government, generations ago, which the average Japanese now may not even know about. But that still casts doubt on the claim that Japan as a whole is "more mature" than the rest of this world. Oh yeah, also of course modern Japan is still a rather conformist place, with that "vertical society" (emphasis on "senpai" and "kouhai"), and where non-conformity is not exactly well-received. And Japan seems to be getting infected with the "woke" mind virus too...

I thought this kind of thing had gone extinct. Guess not. Like a terrible flashback to 2018, yet here it is, running from Sep 16–19, 2025.

Decolonizing Cozy Games
Tristan J. Tarwater (They/Them)
What’s so cozy about doing chores when you’re at the center of the universe? Tristan J. Tarwater will delve into cozy games and how they uphold values of colonialism in their mechanics and narrative. More than just being about “vibes,” cozy games project an idea of what is safe and rewarding for players and often promote values of capitalism by rewarding individualism and consumption. What makes them satisfying for many can also makes things uncomfortable for marginalized people. By exploring and questioning the definitions and values of cozy games and colonialism, we can make cozy games even cozier!
FWIW, Twitter tells me Tarwater is part of Sweet Baby, Inc.

Ethnic Hair Grooms
Caiphus Moore (He/Him)
This talk explores *Ethnic Hair Grooms*, a groundbreaking initiative by Coded Arts that brings authentic Black and Afro-Caribbean hair textures to 3D character design. Led by veteran artist Caiphus Moore, the session features real-time hair examples created in Unreal Engine 5 and powered by NVIDIA’s latest path tracing technology. It also showcases hair card techniques for 4C hair—arguably the most challenging to recreate—offering attendees deep insight into inclusive pipelines and culturally rooted asset creation.

This guy's special interest at least sounds appropriately autistic to fit in with existing video game culture. He doesn't even have novelty pronouns.

Also "culturally rooted." Heh.

One of the smaller artcows I follow has been wisely choosing not to directly comment on any of the Charlie Kirk related stuff. However she has been sharing shit about it on her instagram stories. Kimmel coping under the spoiler because of length.

Man, this JC Frias guy sounds pretty obnoxious. Apparently he’s some Mexican guy with a podcast about politics and immigration.

Saw a bumper sticker with the claim "NO ONE IS ILLEGAL ON STOLEN LAND"... FFS.

First, a non-sequitor. Even if land is stolen, there are people recognized by the government as citizens, and others who aren't. Second, the "logic" reminds me of this post:

Even if an artifact came from Africa, that doesn't necessarily mean it's owned by anyone living there now. It's the same stupidity as "reparations" when both the slaves and slavers are long gone. And are "colonizers" forever "colonizers" to SJWs? The former colonial powers don't do that anymore. This vidya idea shows how collectivist SJWs are.
(in an A&N thread on some "woke" idea for a vidya)

Finally, letting in the endless waves of military aged men "asylum seekers" from Bomalia and Banana Republic will lead to a very sharp increase in violent crime, women at an increased risk of actual harassment or worse, and the appearance "no-go zones"... to name a few problems. One only needs to look at the UK, France, or a city like NYC to see what the effects would be. What is it with "woke" trying to rationalize flooding and overwhelming the developed nations with various people from very underdeveloped nations?

David Simpson, AKA Gamers On Games, is the audience James Gunn and DC/WB want. He openly celebrates Charlie Kirk's assassination and calls for domestic terrorist attacks on conservatives in the United States.
YOU SEE CHUD, THE FICTIONAL CHARACTER WOULD HATE CHARLIE KIRK

god that's such a retarded way of expressing opinions

I'm at a coffee house where two white women just had a passionate conversation about how they aren't gonna support manga anymore, because I guess they just discovered that Japan has some xenophobia and I guess deported some people which makes them Japan bad just like America bad.

That was the only new take I've heard from this irl white woman meeting, everything else is copy and pasted internet talking points from facebook, but irl, then all the other conversations completely surface level about hair bangs and one of their roommate's is a straight single guy so he is probably too dangerous to approach to ask about not falling asleep on the couch when her friend is over.

Who needs SJW online communities when you can just see what the white women in coffee shops are saying.
