A firefighter I know told me that e-scooter accidents are frequently deadly/he's surprised they haven't been banned by now. He said the scooters act like a launchpad and send the rider flying (into oncoming traffic).

That sounds like a feature, not a bug. How often does a group of annoying twats (anyone who would ride an e-scooter) find a way to reliably self-select out of the gene pool?

Thinking about it, I'm surprised there has never been a big push to revive steam engines by ecofags. Looking at old steam vehicles, they're kinda awesome and I wouldn't mind having one

Even fits the gay ass steampunk aesthetic these niggas used to love

Interesting. Definitely one of the most creative forms to create an egg-boiler in my eyes.

Coal fired steam bicycle or car sounds awesome, problem is the hours long warm up period.

Two reasons--they'd require something to burn to operate (like coal), so it wouldn't be eco-friendly in that respect, and the other thing is that if it blows up (cyclist hitting a car...or a pothole) it will blow up, meaning that you'll get flash-boiled alive.

Couldn't you use electric heating?

EDIT: just realized this is retarded as electricity is already generated by burning coal :P

Yeah, had a retard moment there. Makes me wonder what WOULD be eco-friendly fuel for a steam engine.
Even if you could it still wants to give you steam burns over the lower half your body if you look at it wrong, which is no fuckin' way to go out.

Unironically unapproved Chinese batteries are safer.

Switzerland converted steam engines to electric heat during ww2 because they had a coal shortage but plenty of cheap electricity from hydroelectric dams. SBB_Ee_3-3_8521.webp

In the end it makes more sense to just make electric locomotives, which is what the Swiss did.

Steam is still used for power generation because of water's cost, safety and high heat capacity, but using it in moving vehicles is not as practical as IC engines

This just appeared on my feed apropros of nothing, a cyclist chimps out at a traffic cop in the bike lane:

The retard doesn't seem to realize that if he pisses off the parking enforcement people, they won't care when he calls in to complain about someone parked in the bike lane.

Also, he's blaring music on speakers, annoying everyone around him. He's actively disproving the urbanist saying of "cities aren't loud, cars are".

I know right. How can someone be so stupid to attack a driver and expect to come out as the good guy. Personally i feel security would help people feel safe on public transport but it wouldn't surprise the left will one way or the other find fault.

It will be racist because security will only be required in “urban”/ “deprived”/“diverse” areas.
