AR-15s are cool and all, but if I want to hit a man-sized target from 200 yd, I'm bringing a hunting rifle, not a range toy.

I mean sure its a better option but its not that far. I know I hit that with with 5.56 and a red dot on my ar 15. One significant bonus to using an ar is concealability. You can use a collapsible stock and use the takedown pin to fold it in half. We know from video the gun choice forced him to conceal it along his leg causing that awkward gait.
