Unlikely. Known info is that the shooter confessed to his father and the father spoke to someone else about it (unknown whether it was another family friend or clergy member charged with handling confessions), and that person informed the law about it. It seems unusual that the father would be aware the law was coming and restrained his own son in this situation.
