I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't care how many negrates I get here, this whole moralizing about not killing those who you disagree with and not celebrating the other side losing strength is complete bull.
Especially here, on Kiwi Farms, a site where the people celebrate every vigilante action that fucks over a trans person in some way (which includes myself). You and I both know that if it was Hasan or AOC in Charlie Kirk's place here, the comments would be 95% celebrating and openly laughing at every single person sending out their prayers and talking about lowering the temperature (again, including myself).
The world is a zero-sum game. Atttention that goes to people supporting one moral paradigm is attention that is not going to people who support the other. For a person to see value in solving things in a civil manner, being civil actually has to result in that person getting at least some of what they want. In America especially, and the entire western world, it does not. Do you want to ban abortion? You can never ever vote for a Democrat. Do you want to support trans people (because you're ignorant about how they are)? You can never ever vote for a Republican.
This kind of shit is completely inevitable when the only way that society changes is that one side gets total control of the government and pushes the laws and morals they want society to have, with the other side never having a say. Why wouldn't you turn to violence? You know that as long as you're not in those power-wielding positions not only that you won't get anything you want, but that the side that believes everything opposite of you will. That is the reality of modern two-party democracies. There is no benefit to playing by the rules and every benefit of making examples out of people who believe opposite you. You scare common people off from believing the same way they do. You scare the power-wielders into doing more of what you want because they know the alternative could be death.
This won't be the end of political violence, not even close. This is only the start. Taking the higher ground in the modern world, objectively, is accomplishing the same as putting your head in the sand. We're just lucky right now that enough people are acting like ostriches to not be in an active civil war for controlling the future worldview of their countries. Every death that happens like this is more people saying "If they'll just kill my side anyway, why bother being civil?", and I'm right there with them. I'm celebrating that left-leaning people are getting fired because the ostriches are applying their worldview, but only because they are left-leaning. If it was right-leaning, I would want the ostritches to lose out instead. Might makes right is a proven solution to the opposing view that is guaranteed to work, and if we're gonna live in a world where no other thing will force a change, then I'll gladly jump on it wherever it goes.
