Because the ones not so damaged as to be mental invalids are capable of understanding what this moment means for the relations between lefties and righties. Why are the leftists in this forum and online trying to hard to frame him as a Republican? I thought it was a good thing that he killed Charlie Kirk? Why are they suddenly so desperate to paint him as one of the enemy?
As I said in another thread:
Even if you're a leftwinger if you're not legitimately a crayon-eating, helmet-wearing mental defective the implications of this event are obvious. Charlie Kirk wasn't the only one killed in his assassination.Charlie Kirk, the guy closest to the left among political speakers for the right but still right-wing enough, that even people such as Fuentes, Enoch, Spencer, wouldn't disagree with him being given the label 'legitimate right-winger', just got fucking shot. The man who on the right, was only controversial with the right, for not being right-wing 'enough'.
He represented reconciliation, and the possibility of dialogue. With his death, so too died this notion that left and right are compatible. Some people are waking up to this immediately, some are more unsure or cautious out of naivety or a gentle nature, but that is exactly what has just happened.
What his death proved is that no matter what you may have in common with such people, what matters is what you don't. By definition, this means such people view you as their enemy no matter how they may mask it otherwise or try, in manipulation, to get you to believe otherwise or have less of a harsh reaction. As well, given the mass celebration, the articles even posted on here of defiant figures in some measure mocking people who are having the appropriate response, or downplaying it, or outright saying he deserved it, it is clear that these people are not acting in good faith and are in fact incapable of doing so.
The damage control is just another manipulation, to attempt to stymie the very well earned emotions and sentiments that are being pointed in the direction of the left by those who are not centrists and not leftists.
