Parental involvement only matters a little bit in showing that it might push someone away from what they grew up around. It's not as much of a gotcha as people think it is.

People online seem to forget that people have individual agency and can think and act for themselves without their parents influence.

What I'm taking away from this isn't whether this kid was against some set of ideals or held some set of beliefs - it doesn't matter because on the outside he appeared relatively normal except his intrinsic motivations were driven by indecipherable retarded bullshit on Discord and the internet...

...so what I'm trying to say is that when there's a public event with a central speaker that is related to politics or something important... Don't stand too close to the main stage because this shit is going to keep happening and there will probably be a few that never get solved.
