Lots of family photos of him on hunting and fishing trips with his dad and brothers. Even lefties can enjoy the outdoors. I know plenty who do.

That’s not what he insinuated at all.

He stated that we are not used to seeing such gruesome things, which is true. It’s easier than ever to get that stuff beamed directly to you, whether we want to see it or not. It’s harrowing shit. He’s suggesting that people disconnect from the discourse for a bit instead of allowing themselves to get worked into a shoot. This is standard advice for just about anything that irritates or pisses you off.

with a high power rifle round like that, pretty much any hit to the head/neck area is going to be an instant kill shot.
the shooter wasn't doing any "aim for that one specific artery" magic. he was aiming for the head, the shot landed a bit off target but still hit the guy in the neck, and that's enough to kill.
 
You can't rationalize with these people because they believe in "pen violence." If you would consider passing a law against gays you are a target. If you introduce and idea that would restrict abortion, you're violent. If you don't belive trans women are real women, you're a valid target.
I want to be the guy who says "not all my political opponents are irrational, we can work something out" but we can't. The best argument I have seen from the left is that this is a gun issue, not an ideology issue. But the desire to kill was there before the gun. Banning guns won't prevent leftist violence. The ideology has no control or focus, it is a rabid animal operating on emotion. I feel like a right wing extremist saying this, but we can't let these people get more of a foothold. We need to squash them. Being an edgy apt girl with nose rings fighting with dad needs to be a mark of shame again.

His very true and serious ideological beliefs are that Kirk was such a p.o.s. that he wasn't even human so killing him was akin to a funny game. This type or person is the most dangerous because they see us all as animals to hunt and they laugh about it.

This ain't some "I'm killing him, so others can live" type of guy, but rather a total sociopath who didn't see his target as a person. And there are millions of people like this. Ain't that they are cringe with their stupid jokes, but rather that as the meme says, they think it's funny that we die.
