The stupid thing is that Ian clearly really disliked the dude, but made no effort to change to another coach. If you don't click with your coach, trainer, psychologist, driving instructor, whatever, that's totally fine. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right person. But don't shit on him for that, it's not the coach's personal failing. Ian just bottled up his resentment until it exploded instead of just saying 'hey man I'm not feeling it, I need to find someone else'.
