The catch (for real this time)
After a couple of false starts with Kash Patel saying "a subject" has been brought in for questioning, only to be released Trump announces on Fox and Friends that he "thinks" they have a suspect in custody and he has a high degree of confidence that it's the shooter.He says that he learned this a few minutes before coming on to the show and that a relative turned the shooter in.
This is later confirmed and the shooter is identified as Tyler Robinson, a 22 year old Utah resident who lives a few hours away from the place of the shooting. He was apprehended within 33 hours of the shooting.

Although the shooter was turned in by his dad after admitting to committing the crime, the father has turned down the reward money.
Next, a press briefing is held by the Governor of Utah and Kash Patel, director of the FBI. They cover a few details of the case, such as confirming the identity of the shooter, the engravings on the shell casings, that the shooter was in contact with friends at the time, and some details about his dislike of Charlie Kirk prior to the shooting.

As charges were filed, more information came out about the moments before and after the shooting.Immediately after the shooting, the shooter texted his tranny boyfriend about the crime and instructed him to delete the incriminating texts. Charges were formally filed against the shooter. These include:
- Aggravated murder which is eligible for the death penalty
- Felony discharge of a firearm
- Enhancement for violent crime in the presence of a child

During his remote appearance, the shooter was indeed wearing 'the turtle' a garment intended to prevent self-harm. Sucks to suck, I've heard it's unpleasant. The bolt action rifle he used was an heirloom from his grandfather.
We also got a bit more information regarding the pre-capture, which clarified it was initially Robinson's mother who recognized him from the footage, and that it was in fact the shooter who accused Kirk of spreading hate.

The first half of this video is largely a recap, but the second half includes two FBI profilers and their thoughts based off of the information at hand. As had been discussed early on into the investigation, mass shooters/assassins/etc tends to have 'leakage' and hint at or show behavioral changes that suggest they're planning something like this. Going to a shooting range, obsessing over their target and in 60% of cases telling more than one person about their plans. The profilers express doubt that the partner didn't know anything. To be clear these are not official sources, and they do not have access to any psychological assessments or other information on psychiatric state that the public does not.

Response from the administration
JD about to call out George Soros
Many people in the current administration either knew Charlie Kirk or were friends with him. For personal reactions see the following section. This section is for statements or comments made reflecting the official position of the US government. Of course there will be mingling between the two, as is inevitable in this case.
In one such example, JD Vance, president of the united states, acted as a guest host for Charlie's popular podcast The Charlie Kirk Show on monday, September 15th. This was largely personal accounts regarding Charlie from various administration members such as JD Vance himself, RFK Jr (head of Health and Human Services), Karoline Leavitt (press secretary), Susie Wiles (Chief of Staff), Stephen Miller (official immigrant hater), and others like Tucker Carlson.
Many said that Charlie Kirk was instrumental for their success, and some even saying that he championed for them (Susie Wiles, JD Vance) or that they were introduced to Trump by Kirk (RFK Jr). It becomes very evident that Charlie Kirk was not only highly respected within the current administration, but also deeply loved.
It is no doubt that this close relationship to Charlie Kirk, and the perceived attack on freedom of speech, resulted in the ending comments by JD Vance. JD Vance made comments requiring deeply desiring "unity" between the right and left in America, yet at the same time stating unity was impossible if extremist behavior continued (see clip below).
JD Vance also called out media dishonesty about Charlie's views used as justification for his murder, and how one such publication is funded by NGOs like George Soros' Open Society Foundation and the Ford Foundation by name.
The full final address can be seen here, where JD cites rates of extremist views in both parties, disregards political violence as a "both sides" issue due to the large disparity in occurrence (although does condemn political violence and extremist views on both sides), recounts personal experience of his children being harangued by demented onlookers, and more. JD ends by again namedropping Soros and the Ford Foundation, and by stating that unity can only be had by dismantling extremist organizations, and "in the months to come" will target those promoting and funding such groups. JD also encourages calling employers over those celebrating Charlie's death.
It comes across as an unofficial address to the nation and is a highly recommended watch.

Foreknowledge? Not confirmed but suspected.
A suspicious number of people seemed to show foreknowledge of the event in the days leasing up to the shooting.
