Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

I don't know why you guys have trouble understanding this. I think that you just think differently from Europeans. It may be possible for us to understand each other in a similar way that cross racial dialog is often nearly impossible between whites and other races. We love him in spite of this disagreement because of the good he's done. You are not the center of the universe. This is one part of a much larger political picture.
I may have huge problems with his support of Israel, but he's done an incredible amount of positive right wing outreach to the youth, and even if he didn't, he just seems to be a genuine normal guy with a family and children who died for no real reason other than speaking the truth the way he saw it. Its a tragedy in every sense of the word. If they killed him, a moderate, that shows what they think about everybody right of center. Furthermore he wasn't afraid to be pro white which is all I need personally. At least that's how I see it.

I've seen this a lot recently. I've started asking people directly when they express direct direct hatred or dislike of someone and they'll almost always have no response, even if it should be really simple for them. A few weeks back I was talking with an (admittedly retarded) friend and he mentioned his profound hatred of Ethan Klein. I pressed him for anyone Klein did or said that that make him feel that way and he couldn't give anything other than that he generally supported Israel.

I'm being a little disingenuous there because I'm asking rhetorically and acting like I'm seriously wondering what they did or said, but I never get a satisfying answer. It's just some idea they have generally are part of the bad group. If you're going to hate someone you should at least know why, or at least be willing to say "I just don't like him much." I'd bet virtually no one celebrating his assassination could tell you one specific thing he did or said that justified it.
