Featured on Sep 10, 2025 by Null: Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was assassinated during a Utah Valley University event. FBI states they have video of the shooter but no further details are public.

Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on Wednesday.

Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

Multiple reports currently say Charlie Kirk made it to the hospital and is currently stable but the extent of his injuries and likelihood of recovery isn't currently known. He is in critical condition.

It's pretty hard to tell what gun just from the sound of a video. Mainly cause most microphones clip with something as loud as a gunshot so they're not gonna capture the full sound.

Wouldn't be impossible though, .300BO is a useful enough round in hunting even coming out of a 12" barrel.

Not really, it's just a more powerful round that fits in standard 5.56 AR lowers, uppers and magazines. Sort of an issue with it since if someone mixes up 5.56 and .300BO in the same magazine then it can potentially blow up their 5.56 gun. A .300 BO round can technically chamber in a 5.56 rifle, if the bolt closes fast enough to jam the bullet down into the casing, enough to allow it to fire. When that happens the .300 bullet will try to go down the .223 sized hole and blow up the gun.

In this scenario you are not accepting more violence. To think that is to ascribe to firearms some sort of inherent evil and strip a man of his agency and responsibility. Ultimately this is the opposite ideal that most gun advocates aspire to by owning guns in the first place.
