The goal is to push these opinions back into the darkness where they came, to dampen the way they shape public discourse, and to make these people uncomfortable about what they say publicly.
Honey, that's not how America works.

If Nigger McQoudus and Jessica formerly Jeremy Smith say something dumb or offensive they have a right to say it.

I remember Republicans didn’t care when Nancy Pelosi’s husband was almost bashed to death with a hammer.

And then they made up a conspiracy theory about the guy being his “gay lover” and Elon Musk even posted about it.
Did you actually watch the body camera footage?

Someone broke into the speakers house and they sent two officers, two.

Pelosi is in the kitchen, the hammer guy is standing beside him, both are talking to the cops.

The cops don't seem overly concerned and Pelosi didn't run out of the house when they showed up. The cops are acting like this is a call they get a few times a month from the Pelosi house.

The officers only react when the hammer guy whigs out and starts wacking Pelosi with the hammer.

Nothing about it makes any sense.

no i think the bullet his spine too
i thought the same but he limps right at the end, if the bullet had hit his spine then he would have fell right then and there.
you might get the impression of that because the impact pulls his hands up.

like, imagine being in 1650 america and hearing people talk about revolt against the british.
Nobody was even talking about that in 1650.

It wasn't until a bunch of oppressive taxes were issued during the reign of George III that this became a real thing. Most Americans considered themselves basically just Englishmen in America (although with a substantial German population), until one of England's worst kings deliberately shat all over us. In 1773, even that insane idiot withdrew most of the taxes but one: the tea tax. That's the one that led to the Boston Tea Party and made war inevitable.

Even then we were not usually outright assassinating British functionaries. There was the famous "tar and feathering," but it wasn't coal tar (which would probably kill you) but pine tar, which would merely humiliate you. War is not political violence in the same sense as assassination, which is universally deplorable.

Almost all my coworkers, even the lefty ones, are shocked by this and absolutely detest it. Except one, who said he didn't care he died, which is fine if you didn't know the guy, but he follows up with "Well he probably shouldn't have said such hateful things.", which throws that out the window. Which several of us told that it isn't right and it's a rotten way to die, shit opinions or no. I even told him that he's not even that controversial of a figure. Dude then said "Yeah I should probably talk to my therapist about that." But then said he said something about crisis actors? Idk.

If this dude knew my opinions at all he would wish death on me and that makes me feel a certain way. It's strange how common this is now, and this guy is an open commie. I always try to give people the benefit of a doubt, but these last few years it's been proven time and time again I shouldn't.

I have, in real life, actually had trannies threaten my life. Like, actual local trannies who lived near me and knew where I went during the day.

Ever since that happened, I’ve had this exact feeling that you’re talking about. You’ve realized this is serious. It’s not like arguing with soy boys on Xitter about whether or not Game of Thrones is a good TV show.

Never for a second have I ever felt like I wanted people I argued with to die. But they often feel about me. It’s surreal, it’s scary, and the sooner that everyone with mildly unorthodox opinions realizes that, the better.
