Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

Charlie Kirk was utterly milquetoast. He wasn't some dissident right extremist calling for TND, TKD, or TTD. He nudged the overton window Right of center at a time when the Left are desperate to alienate normal people who want to live in a sane society, that's it. Unpopular opinion here, I know, but this seems like a case of "play stupid games, win stupid prizes." Guys like Charlie Kirk have made themselves experts at stirring the pot, and pressing people's buttons. They wallow in it. They've created a toxic space of shout-show hosts and grievance. Fox News and talk radio are not legit and exist solely to drum up dissatisfaction and outrage. MSNBC is the same, only not as good at it. It's no surprise they reach a point where a crazy decides to shut them the hell up. Today, it's Charlie Kirk. Tomorrow it'll be Rachael Maddow or Lawrence O'Donnell or some other left wing guy. Maybe some loudmouthed Hollywood type, or AOC.
