Unpopular opinion here, I know, but this seems like a case of "play stupid games, win stupid prizes." Guys like Charlie Kirk have made themselves experts at stirring the pot, and pressing people's buttons. They wallow in it. They've created a toxic space of shout-show hosts and grievance. Fox News and talk radio are not legit and exist solely to drum up dissatisfaction and outrage. MSNBC is the same, only not as good at it. It's no surprise they reach a point where a crazy decides to shut them the hell up. Today, it's Charlie Kirk. Tomorrow it'll be Rachael Maddow or Lawrence O'Donnell or some other left wing guy. Maybe some loudmouthed Hollywood type, or AOC. Basically these two extremes are both awful for all of us, and they specialize in shaking the soda bottle every day and have been non-stop for over twenty-plus years now. No one should be shocked when the plastic bottle bursts. The real surprise is that it hasn't happened before now. And that's sad in every way.
charlie wasnt an extreme you nigger. he was a moderate at most.

I was discussing this in Sneedchat, but I can't fathom being one of Charlie's kids and seeing my dad get murdered while doing one of his talks. I would have a mental breakdown if I came across it. It's impossible to use Twitter because every second tweet is about Charlie getting hardscoped from a rooftop.

It's hard not to get MATI at the sociopaths who think it's BASED and REDPILLED to murder people due to different opinions. I'm usually not the person to use the slippery slope argument, but if it can happen to him, it can happen to you.
Its really a formative moment. What sort of hatred would this instill in a person as they grow up, having seen their father, who by all accounts was a loving and present parent, get gunned down so publicly by his political enemies (we assume)? Its like a literary set up almost.

collect their info and fucking do something then. they do it all the fucking time.

This needs to be shared more. I would never advocate any real life action against anyone regardless of their political opinion, but there needs to be an easily accessible repository for vile, subhuman filth like this. A place that is easily readable and researchable during the hiring process.

Kirk's assassination, along with the Ukrainian girl's murder, along with the assassination attempt on Trump, along with all that other clown world craziness and violence and thinly veiled calls to violence by prominent figures on the Left over the last ten plus fucking years have radicalized me. I don't think like a conservative anymore. I'm something else now--not sure what, just feeling my way.

Anyway, whatever you might think of Charlie Kirk, it's likely his assassination will be remembered as a pivotal event down the road, the inciting incident. I'm guessing political violence will escalate now because historically that's how it happens: one thing leads to another to another in a chain reaction until it goes beyond anyone's control and explodes into something cataclysmic and horrible.

People who say violence isn't the answer are just preening and posturing, mouthing soothing platitudes to feel good about themselves, morally superior. Violence may very well be the answer. It depends on the question.

You're getting all excited by the idea of finally finding a purpose and raising a gun in its cause. Don't be a toy solider.

AMERICANS, DON'T EVER LISTEN TO THESE FAGGOTS! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP YOUR GUNS! DO NOT BECOME BRAZIL!!!
My country has gun control and is one of the most violent countries in the entire world. Criminals and cartels don't care about your laws. During the Bolsonaro years (2019-2022), my country had a massive lowering in crime, thanks in part to Bolsonaro's efforts to arm the people.

Why doesn't your country just make murder illegal?

This is getting very odd. One begins to wonder if an escape was planned and how professional was the shooting.
it's not THAT odd.
how many people at the event? hundreds? maybe over a thousand? takes less than a minute for the shooter to leave his rifle behind, maybe change clothes, and then just disappear into the crowd.
alternatively, placing a getaway car nearby as preparation isn't difficult either. if he ditches the gun and the clothes that he was seen wearing at the event, then he can just drive away and even if he gets stopped at some police checkpoint they don't have much to recognize him by.

Is this how black people feel?

People who are calling for gun control because of this incident are idiots. Shinzo Abe was assassinated with a gun on an island nation with some of the strictest gun control laws in the world and almost no civilian firearms.

I saw Hasan's reaction and I'm more surprised he didn't break out in a Fortnite dance, celebrating his death.
"Well if he just banned all the guns after 17 quintillion School Shootings then he would've been saved!" followed by "Zomg that could've been me!" isn't much better.

One thing is for sure, Trump has divided the country in a way it never has been before and he should step down for the good of the country. If you ask me what should happen is the the two candidates who get the most votes should both be sworn into office as president and neither one of the them should be able to do anything without the approval of the other. Rome used this system and it kept the peace for almost five hundred years, twice as long as this nation has existed. The winner take all system we use at the moment makes it impossible to avoid violence because the losing side in the election has no voice and are never listened to so they have no reason not to use violence. If every policy was a compromise it would be very hard to make anyone feel things were unfair to the point where they are willing to resort to violence. The other thing that would help I think is requiring anyone who runs for president to have served two terms in congress or the senate so they know how things work and have worked with people one both sides and haven't just used the extreme wings of their party to ride a wave of fear and hatred into power. Our system is broken.

At any rate I think Trump and Vance should step down for the good of the country. I voted for them but they have been a disaster for this country. We need new elections with a candidates who are in the center and not from the extreme wings of their parties.
legitimately, and I mean this whole-heartedly: kill yourself. you'd be doing the country a favor.

Gonna get downvoted to shit for this, but y'all are tinfoil sperging like your asses are on fire. Let's be realistic, this took place in fucking Utah. It's gonna come out that this was probably a groyper or considering the accuracy of the shot, an ex-military mormon loonatic off their meds, everything's going to fizzle out in a week when they catch him, and continue like normal until the next big name gets killed. It happened with Luigi, it happened with the failed trump shot, and it's going to happen with this.

That was a clean shot and kill. This wasn't a troon.
I’m thinking there’s a solid chance it’s a ex-republican who is a never trumper.

I am sort of with you on that. We need to stop just being ok with this, we need to hold these people responsible because you know whenever something bad happens to them they always bend themselves backwards to blame literally anyone who even farts in the same direction of the right.
If they talk shit about the left they get, cancelled, fired, deplatformed, maybe even shot like we just saw

If they talk shit about the right they get a new show, invited to events, money from jew NGOs, the works

With no consequences there is no change

Except he never was flippant about it, in fact he had an opinion with a lot of grace - cars kill numerous people every year yet we accept that, likewise we have to accept some gun deaths will occur whilst also doing our best to prevent them.

I've seen people comparing guns to cars and I don't understand, what the fuck is up with this comparison? Deaths by car are pretty much only accidental or accidental adjacent like drunk driving. Guns exist for the sole purpose of killing someone, there are no accidental killings with guns (unless a guy shoots himself while cleaning it or some shit). We like to think that guns are for personal protection, but they're not. They exist to protect us from other guns.

I'm not saying this mean Kirk deserved to die for having his views on guns. He didn't, nobody deserves to die for having an opinion. I just find it amuzing that (mostly) american people REALLY don't admit to question the validity of guns in a modern society and instead resort to nonsensical arguments to justify that stance.
