Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on Wednesday.

Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

Multiple reports currently say Charlie Kirk made it to the hospital and is currently stable but the extent of his injuries and likelihood of recovery isn't currently known. He is in critical condition.

Not in direct words. But his stance was basically, the Second Amendment is more important than the lives of anyone killed by a gun. This includes children.

this is a very sad incident and my heart and prayers go out the the victims family but I think the reality is the modern American is far to de-sensitized to violence as well as politics in general.

Outside these little digital chat rooms the vibe about this is just going to be maybe 1 week of slightly different talking points on the news, maybe only 5 days.

Yesterday a video was released showing us shooting a UFO with a hellfire missle and Israel attacked a neutral nations capitol with airstrikes and today you probably wont find a dozen normies that even know or care about either thing beacuse the reality is, short of headlines the avrg person cant engage with politics beyond a twitter post, they are just to focused on making rent this month or making dinner for their family or getting their car fixed.

They straight up dont have the luxury of extra mental processing power to devote to giving a fuck that our politics are getting more violent.

I'm not even in America, and maybe it's because it's raining so heavily right now, but this affected me way more than I thought. I barely knew this guy, I'm used to seeing my fair share of gore, but I just have a weird feeling of dread hanging about me. He was just a milquetoast debatebro. Probably would never think about advocating for violence in any way, and yet I've seen so many people want him violently dead, and someone actually violently killed him.

Someone asked earlier if this is what 9/11 felt like. And I'll ask that too. I can't help but feel like we're at the cusp of a big, big shift. And it's going to get real ugly real soon.
