Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on Wednesday.

Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

Multiple reports currently say Charlie Kirk made it to the hospital and is currently stable but the extent of his injuries and likelihood of recovery isn't currently known. He is in critical condition.

Since this is taking place in a major public event, what are the chances they'll catch the shooter by the cameras or something related? I don't believe a shooter can possibly escape in this day and age where nearly everyone have their phones out and there are way more advancement on security
 
I read or heard someone say that if Trump were shot in the head, the moment would be immortalized in a snarky gif or clip that gets spammed and shared like a sassy black woman gif at people who insane, excessively online leftists don't like. I guess we'll see now if that theory holds weight

How can anyone, armed or otherwise, defend themselves from a sniper?

You would think Uvalde would have put the "good guy with a gun" meme to a rest. I'm not even anti-gun, but I would wager the average gun owner is more likely to hurt themselves or a loved one that ever prevent a mass tragedy or something like what happened to Charlie.

Too many cameras. The Utah State Patrol and local agencies are already on this. FBI is probably going to investigate per Trump.

I would expect video to ID the shooter in 24-36 hours, then the hunt begins. The shooter may get help from persons sympathetic but an FBI SWAT team and federal charges will erode support. Unless he is out of the country (even then Trump could order the guys killing) the person is cooked.
 
Even if he passed away to something that would’ve killed anyone, I’m surprised this happened in the first place. It’s Charlie Kirk. Not someone who orchestrated the oppression of millions, Charlie Kirk.

Ironically, the feds tried to break shit, and the Boomers strolling in scolded them hard enough that only a window or two got broken.
