I think people should not "invest" in a house. they are not investments. never have been. they've been homes. its where you live and raise your family. you don't sell something like that unless you have too. thus, its not an investment.

LAND should be the investment. you can get value out of a piece of land. Crops. Cattle. wood. water. minerals. and so on and so forth.

you ain't no kind of man without a piece of land.
I agree. I think its unhealthy to view your home that way as youre ascribing monetary value (and anxiety) to the place where you are supposed to make comfort and memories with loved ones. If you make money on the sale to upgrade then all the better but turning your home into a dividend seems risky long term.

I believe the Homeland Security twitter is run by a woman but she's actually a fren and not some poser the way Newscum and Hochul's bitch ass assistants are. Nothing worse than seeing a meme template just die right in front of your eyes like this.
In earnest, official government accounts are posting retarded memes as communication so I've lost respect for anybody doing that. What are we, gen Z attention deficit ninnies that need goofy pictures to illustrate a point? Is this middle school, trying to be RELATABLE to the kidz?

that's nice and all but the big issue for communities is that some cities have anti-"crime free housing" laws which means your neighbors who rent can be a menace and there's nothing you can do about it.
This is in fact a main issue with why people don't wanna rent in the first place. Nigger behavior gets paid for by the landlord. Eventually it's cheaper to not rent or lament an "accident" that burned the apartment down.
the scenario i'm think about is that the grandparents takes in their hoodrat grandchildren to the suburbs where they continue to do hoodrat shit and antagonize everyone endlessly and no amount of police is going to matter because they're juveniles.
... and the judge is a bleeding heart liberal who won't smack a bitch when a bitch needs smacking...
in a real society, grandma and grandpa lose their rented home and get sent back to where they came from where they can bitch about people pulling the ladder up behind them.
In legal terms, it's called a "Cure or Quit Order." Cure the behavior, or we quit your lease. Standardized warning procedure with standardized means of fighting it if this happens to be a scummy landlord, what with keeping rent in escrow so that any lack of pay isn't because of a lack of funds. I approve of legal solutions like this.

The problem is that it needs to be absolute. If it goes to a quit order, either your bags get packed, Big Jim and his moving crew pack it for you, or you've made it clear this is going to speedy, and I can't emphasize that enough, litigation. So far, most scumfuck renters know how to game the system and bilk about one to one and a half years of tenancy, at which point nigger behavior does its work.
i'm fortunate to live an city that has nusiance laws not related to domestic violence and i cant sleep all night instead of being waken up at 2 am by rap music.
I'm going to guess an errant "t" made it in here?
i was sympathetic but even the domestic violence exception needs to be done away with because i can easily see a single mommy getting beat by her bf while her kids terrorize the neighborhood as a form of lashing out.
Let's just be blunt, if this is the case, it's the one time we might want CPS involved. They fucking suck, but this is presumably the thing they're supposed to be going after.

Most people either do it stupidly, do it because they don't have anything better to do, or do it because it's the current thing that works. If... say... classic cars turned into investments on par with property's overall stability, Blackrock and Vanguard would be immediately buying up every '49 Ford they could get their hands on and we'd bitch, validly, about the death of hot rods. On this front though, it's my opinion they're following the money and this is just optimal play. A home isn't special in the grand scheme of things, it's just filling a role.

>California Governor Gavin Newsom to launch crypto memecoin.
Holy fuck, this is incredible. He has zero personality. He is just doing whatever political consultants tell him to do. :story:

My friends on the other side say Pritzker is not liberal enough, so there go his chances at getting the radical AOC, Bernie endorsement. Newsom isn't tapping into the real angst of the middle class and male zoomers. He's got plenty of time to try and get something that sticks but Im not optimistic about his chances.

No. You just handed the bill to taxpayers, even ones without kids, or who have already long since raised kids of their own. Stupid commie.
I don't get it. No, seriously. I'd assume taxpayer money already goes to public schooling, lunch included. Where is this coming from about starving kids in school? As if that's the ONLY thing wrong with our school system.

"I need to be the left-wing Trump!"

At this point, I legit think this is it.
Gavin Newsom is taking everything popular about Trump and skillfully using it to his advantage for his future presidential bid. Between this and Vance being married to a Jeet and threatening to undo any progress made against H1B fraud, President Newsom might have a real shot at 2 terms.

Can I have whatever you're smoking, please?

All of this is easily dispelled by "Gavin Newsome burned down California and he'll do it to your state too if he has his way."
