All Newsom has to do to troll Trump is remind him that he used to bang his son's ex girlfriend. This is the level of discourse we're at in the media now. Trump is the reason political figures are expected and encouraged to engage in online slapfights.

I mean you can find Jefferson and Adams calling each other transvestite faggots so I don’t think it’s original to trump. He just lacks the redeeming qualities the ones on the past had

Does anyone think Trump will ultimately undo his De Minimus exception removal (i.e. no tariffs for imported packages under 800 dollars)? He's wavered on it before (extended the exemption removal back in the spring), but I feel like he's really gone all in lately on the tariff nonsense.

People pointing out and calling him a taco might make this time stick. He's a very petty person and will do things to spite people he feels are enemies. Only thing I can see reversing it is if his base starts flipping their shit over the de minimus removal.

Probably. He has an unhealthy obsession with tariffs like his cult has an unhealthy obsession with worshipping and wanting to have sex with an obese, elderly, senile, pants-shitting pedophile

They might. It's going to be a big issue with small businesses that require & rely on imported parts/materials. For example, on Reddit I saw a post by someone freaking out about wedding veils (wedding lace is most often produced in Italy/imported into the US).

The De Minimus exemption is removed for ALL country imports - not just "China, China, China". So I think a lot of folks are gonna get quite the shock, when they realize it's going to effect them.

The cruel irony of the removal of De Minimus was how much of Trump's base relied on sources through Temu, SHEIN, and the larger Amazon worldwide drop shipping network to make their lives work. Cheap Chinese goods have downsides I don't think I have to explain, but twenty dollars in a kitchen gadget section on Temu would stretch further than that same amount of money at Goodwill. In an economy where more people shop at thrift stores than ever before, companies in that business are aware they can charge more for their goods than they already would--per the inflationary reality.

You also have to consider how the removal of De Minimus could backfire against him, personally. Say he stops making enough money on his red hats using materials and labor sources solely in the United States. (Fat chance most of the production is done here, but I don't feel like tracing the web of his supplies, so we will give him some benefit of the doubt, as most of the production of his merch is handled by, I'm assuming, more competent people within his empire.) Say the Chinese sweatshops are a more prudent business decision as a source of manufacturing. The removal of the De Minimus clause could be the reason a red hat sits in a supporter's cart instead of being purchased.

I've seen a list of countries saying they will not be shipping anything other than gifts under $100 to the US. Australia, several EU countries, Great Britain.... Once that news reaches the masses may be some noises will be made that actually makes a difference.

Last time I went to Goodwill, I left in disgust because many of the items were priced higher than buying new!

Honestly, the De Minimus exception effecting his business profits is probably the only way he'll reverse it. For some reason, he's chosen poorly implemented tariffs as his political hill to die on.

I wonder how the Republican Party themselves feel about all the Tariff stuff? 'cause the Democratic Party is in literal shambles, but the tariff issue just might be a SNAFU with potential to lower the playing field/hand Democrats power in the next upcoming elections.

Republicans tend to hate tariffs because muh free trade. However Trump is pro tariff because he can cut personal and corporate income taxes further. Nothing a Republican loves more than shining the knobs of the <1%. So it’s ultimately a wash. Stock markets indicate a negative tariff stance but as we see with Lutnick’s kids, there are plenty that are betting on tariffs becoming a disaster. As usual, it’s the 99%+ that suffer the consequences.

If you want to know if Trump will do something, ask yourself who it will benefit. If it will benefit only the 99%, he won’t.

They'll just photoshop up a photo of the shooter wearing a wig or something and say they're trans despite all evidence to the contrary and then blame the democrats
Whether or not the shooter was trans (with no criminal record, BTW), the real issue is that the weapons used in these shootings are almost always obtained legally, including assault weapons. I am sick and tired of Republicans saying that's not the issue when it's THE BIGGEST ISSUE!!!

Notice how quickly they swept the murder of the Minnesota senator and her husband by a MAGA under the rug. Trump was even asked if he was going to call Govenerner Walz to express condolences and he said something like "I could, but it would be a waste of time."

I was a teenager when Columbine happened. Literally since then, we’ve asked for just common sense gun laws. Not taking away everyone’s guns, just regulations to keep deadly weapons out of the wrong hands. Every time we’re told that the problem is mental health, thoughts and prayers, and move on with no plan to address mental health. For years I was convinced we’d see the light eventually, that there was going to be the one event that would shock us into action.

Then 2012 came. Fucking kindergarteners murdered at Sandy Hook. People coming out to say “your dead kids can’t take my right to own guns”. That was the first time since 9/11 (where as Americans we came together like nothing I’ve seen) that I realized we no longer live in a society. People exist that would be happy to see their neighbors suffer if it meant they got a little more. Flash forward 8 years and now you’ve got miggers who can’t put a piece of cloth on their face for 5 minutes to get their McDonald’s for the sake of the health of the public.

It’s unbelievable how quickly America has fallen. From United We Stand to “Fuck grandma maybe she should die so I don’t have to wear a mask” in less than 25 years.

Yet the ones making America fail the fastest are the ones calling themselves patriots. If you wish for ill on your countrymen, you are no patriot. To fagquote a movie, America is not a place. It’s a people.

What makes Trump unique in that regard if over half of voters both either agree or simply put up with it? That's not an exclusive lolcow trait but a common stance across the country.

I donated to Sandy Hook Promise once and then was inundated with texts, emails, and YouTube ads. What finally stopped it was me sending them a message that said "As long as there is a Republican majority in Congress, for me to continue donating is pointless." This was even before Trump was elected to his second term.

What makes Trump unique is he’s the most gun control President of the past 20 years yet miggers vote for him because the “Dems are gunna take our guns!!!”

Wait, what protests?

Oh.

And apparently it’s costing, like, a million bucks a day to keep the National Guard standing around, chasing panhandlers and eating Chik-fil-A. The guys they shipped out to L.A. are STILL sitting around waiting for a paycheck.
