An active shooter situation is underway at a Catholic church in south Minneapolis.

The gunman has attacked 20 people this morning at Annunciation Church on 54th Street, according to preliminary reports that have not yet been confirmed by police.

At least four people are injured and two dead in the mass shoot out, the reports add.
Minnesota state troopers, local police, FBI agents, paramedics and a large number of ambulances have responded to the scene.

Officials at the Catholic grade school on the same grounds as the parish told Daily Mail that 'now is not the time to be answering your questions'.

Daily Mail has approached the church and local police for further information.

At least 20 people are feared to have been gunned down after an active shooter stormed a Catholic church in Minneapolis as the parish school was holding its start-of-year mass.

The shooter stormed Annunciation Catholic Church on 54th Street around 8:30am local time. A Catholic grade school is connected to the church.

Preliminary reports indicate that at least four people are injured in the mass shoot, although authorities have not yet confirmed the number of victims.

Multiple children have been taken to a nearby hospital, law enforcement sources told KARE. It is unclear how exactly how many children have been hurt.

Minnesota state troopers, local police, FBI agents, paramedics and a large number of ambulances are currently at the scene.

'I’ve been briefed on a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School and will continue to provide updates as we get more information,' Governor Tim Walz said.

'The BCA and State Patrol are on scene. I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of violence.'

Officials at Annunciation Catholic School told Daily Mail that 'now is not the time to be answering your questions'.

It is unclear if the gunman has been apprehended. Daily Mail has approached the church and local police for further information.

Witnesses claim a man dressed in all black and armed with a rifle was spotted on the church grounds, though these reports have not yet been verified by police.

Parents have gathered near the church as they desperately seek answers about the welfare of their children.

'I'm monitoring reports of horrific violence in South Minneapolis. I'm in touch with Chief O'Hara and our emergency response team has been activated,' Mayor Jacob Frey said.

'We will share more information as soon as we can. Please give our officers the space they need to respond to the situation.'

The thing is people do think about Klebold. There are multiple documentary's, a game, loads and loads of interviews, arguments online and all the other stuff. We do reward them for doing stuff like this. With hours upon hours of "getting inside their head" media.
They gain infamy and endless lore. They get to become part of history. It is what this troon wanted. It is not that he wanted to be the same as Klebold, he just wanted to be on the same list.
Part of me feels like there should be an unperson law when it comes to edgy spree killers. You never existed. No birth certificate, no media. Nothing, your remains get cremated and dumped somewhere with no marker. The world just forgets you. Because the true thing they are after is for people to talk about them, media reports, newspapers. They want their name in the press and it would deter most of these insane troons and other assorted fags from hurting innocents in big flashy ways like this.
But i know it is not realistic to do.

People think about Harris and Klebold because they were the first to really do it. Yes, there were school shootings before Columbine, but Columbine was the one that really made "school shootings" enter the cultural zeitgeist. They're the only school shooters the average person can actually name.

The last mass shooting that I feel genuinely shocked people and stuck in their memories was Sandy Hook, and that's because the victims were so young. High school and college students, people were used to, but not elementary school kids. Fast forward ten years, and a shooting with similarly-aged victims in Uvalde is primarily only remembered because the police response was so incompetent.

The 2018 Parkland shooting is only remembered because some of the kids involved used it as an opportunity to become political activists. It was then pushed back into the spotlight a few years later because of a Youtube video showing the perpetrator attacking like a knob during their police interview went viral.

The 2019 Christchurch Mosque shooting is also still remembered now, but that was partially because it happened in a country where you wouldn't expect them to happen, and partially because the perpetrator had the "unique selling point" of livestreaming it.

But the vast majority of the school shootings committed in the past 15 years are obscure, only really remembered in the local area and by the families affected. Do you know the name of the perpetrator of the 2018 Santa Fe High School shooting? Did you even remember the 2018 Santa Fe High School shooting at all until just now?

By and large, mass shootings have almost become... trite. The reaction isn't even horror, it's frustration. "Oh, really, another one?".

You might gain recognition in some fringe corner of the Internet where people are obsessed with these things, but if you shoot up a school in 2025, you're not going to be a household name. Except for the loved ones of the victims (and your own loved ones), what you did isn't even going to be remembered in a week, let alone your name.

I hate the use of the term nihilism here. Everybody associates it with The Big Lebowski and the idea that nihilists have no real ideology. That couldn't be farther from the truth. I remember it mainly for him walking into people's houses uninvited to demonstrate how safe a "gun free" society feels (come to Bongland, Michael!), for the incredibly trite and inaccurate South Park cartoon thing saying how gun ownership came about through White people's fear of happy smiling Black people. And the skin-crawling interview about it with Maralyn Manson where Moore asks him the set-up question of "what would you have said to those kids" so that Manson can reply "I wouldn't have said anything. I would have listened. Which is the one thing nobody did."

Now you can probably tell me if this is accurate, but I heard that one of the Columbine killers kept a journal and that it shows the kid is deeply, deeply fucked in the head. The narrative of Moore's film is that these two kids became what they are through bullying. I don't believe that. I've never read the journal if it exists, though.
