studios are fucking retarded changing shit when people are asking 1-1 with better graphics. that konami of all people are getting this with mgsdelta is fucking wild
Don't get too excited, remember that the last official MGS game(Survive) charged you real money for an extra save game(you know, if you wanted to START A NEW GAME?). This is too good to be true, they will 100% poz it up somehow.

mgs5 was so bad that i wrote off the ip forever. survive doesnt exist
Thing is that it's not even a bad game, so you're definitely missing out. That said, it is horrifically unfinished and undercooked, it feels like you're playing a survival based MGS5 with zombies(which is not a bad thing btw). Multiplayer was fantastic, I will legit take a more fleshed out version of that instead of MGO any day.

Really the only thing they changed entirely are the secret theater movies. while I haven't seen them all they seem quite funny.

Also they changed the look of Volgin's body when he dies to pair up with what he looks like in 5, which was interesting.

I was going to say I don't think there really is a lot you can bother to censor, but Sigint's "shit tank" nightmare codec call got edited or a phoned in recording to change every instance of the word shit to crap far as I saw. Haven't the slightest clue why the word "shit" required the extra effort but guess that's where we are.

Not sure what else they could have messed with all that much. Maybe the goofy waterfall scene if you leave the transmitter in but that would be a pretty dumb thing to change. EVA's medical history had some silliness in there. Actually that reminds me that you can safely assume her xray nipples won't still be visible in the suvival viewer. Which isn't relevant and doesn't change anything, so removing it is as pointless as having it there in the first place was. But if you NEEDED to check every single thing then yeah those are possibly changed.

Personally waiting to see someone's full on "100% autism all secrets and eater eggs" run. Not invested enough to play it but I do like the games enough to want to see how they handled it all. It still generally looks quite good even if I feel the codec call change is retarded. Also shows that even if they couldn't make a new game worth a shit, there's potential in working with the older ones. If I was them I would consider using this as a basis for MG1+2. Or even doing something with PW/PortOps. They could use it for basically all of the Big Boss games really.

I'm kinda wondering if Konami ever actually does try to make a Metal Gear Solid 6, if it would either be a Big Boss game that would actually bridge the gap and show what he was up to before the events of the MSX games separate from Venom, or if they would try to tap into a Solid Snake story again and have an adventure set between 2 and 4 where he goes on another mission for Philanthropy with Otacon at a point before he has the body of a geriatric from the advanced aging. I could very easily see Konami wanting to cynically tap the Solid Snake & Otacon mine of gold again for The Nostalgia™ in a new non-remake, but they also can't really pull out Old Snake for another bout, so I'd imagine something like this would be the middleground. How they would justify its' existence beyond wanting money, I have no idea.

Well ,if it's confirmed they're going to bother censoring smaller bits, then they will censor something bigger 100%
RIP

Yes, survive MGSV was indeed that. And worse, it had a paid demo which Koji couldn't even use to finish his fucking homework. Imagine having a paid demo, and you still release a half-finished final product despite the shekel shenanigans. Sometimes disappointing can be worse than bad, and MGSV was the height of disappointing. My dumb ass, fresh out of the military, actually got a PS4 just to play that shit. Within the year, both the game and console were sold, and I haven't touched a Sony property since.

Never forget, Eva was always a flat-chested faker with fake tits. Disgusting.

I think the worst part was just how much shit is in there that could make it more fun, but just either went completely unused or was simply never thought to implement in the correct way.

It's probably been like 5 years since I've even looked at MGS V, but the infinite heaven mod activated/slightly changed all sorts of stuff that was already in the game in unique ways that just made the game more fun. Then you hear about how Kojima had a working Battlegear in the game and then cut it because it made the game too unbalanced but then you have all the other stupid stealth camo and wormhole shit.

Like that shit wouldn't have saved the game or anything, but what the fuck why gimp what you already have?

Ironic thing is that Ground Zeroes was more of a Metal Gear game than the finished product lmfao
Still, it DOES have some value since you can mod in the entirety of Guantanamo as a third playable zone into the game like a mod(think TTW if you play Fallout), but year a full priced demo will always be lulzworthy to me, only Kojima could get away with this.

Personally I would lean toward ignoring most of 5 and doing the inbetween. Even if you had to setup the rest of the series I feel like there's better ways to do it than with anything V left.

You can easily base Big Boss' movements for a full game just off the backstory we had for the first 4 games. MG+MG2 still function as the end game. MGS1 half the characters hype up how awesome and what a "hero" Big Boss was when they were children he saved. While the other half are generally pointing out that it was an easy way to recruit soldiers and he was a militaristic asshole. So with all that you can do a decent chunk of stuff on the journey past PW/PortOps meeting Grey Fox, Sniper Wolf, Naomi, keep the meeting with Campbell if they want.

This also lets them prep how later Foxhound forms. Could explain why Oilex was totally dropped as a plot point and how Dr Madnar goes from fighting Snake in MG2 to supposedly being the one who saves Raiden in MGS4. Hell it's prime time to do all that Patriots setup MGS4 made up and the clone stuff etc. Or end Big Bosses games with Operation Intrude and Solid Snake crawling out of the water. They really don't have to actually do much work because it's all established stuff anyway.

Whereas if they had to be "original" and make new content, I bet something with Snake and Otacon post MGS2 would end up generic. "It turns out philanthropy was a Patriots shell organization!" It technically fits and doesn't require a crapton of effort to work. All you need to do is filler it with stuff until the part where they steal a plane with a child then eat burnt eggs for a few years. You could split it with Raiden. That would give them padding to show how his whole character got 180'd from the point MGS2 was supposedly making at the end of the game. Still needs more effort than the other option though.

Admittedly I'm just going off this. I'm not going to rummage through a bunch of other stuff to check every little thing when I can wait for an autism playthrough.

The main reason I tried looking for this specifically is because it's one of the things I knew was removed from at least most or all later versions. Arguably leaving that call in makes less sense with the original context removed since the minigame was gone, but codec calls about nightmares aren't exactly absurd or out of place considering all the other goofy calls.
Just wondered if they would bother putting it back or not with all the hype around using the original VA. So the answer is mostly I guess.

Big Boss' Child Soldier Recruitment Simulator and if it sells well, the sequel is teenage Solidus troop management but all your troops are like 9 and you have to keep them a certain degree of traumatized for max efficacy.

eta: Big Boss' How to Win Friends and Influence People. Networking and Ass-Kicking with Big Boss.

konami need to scrap the whole Venom Snake retardation
Konami is not going to retcon or decanonize the twist of the previous numbered entry because they would be eaten alive by the community of spergs who worship Kojima like a god and it would be very bad optics for the overall normie gaming sphere. Only he would be able to get away with doing something like that to his own work in the public eye, and he's never coming back, so they're stuck with it. The best they could realistically do is just not acknowledge or center things around it.

Yeah, I like this.

Speaking of Raiden - since Konami is working with Platinum again, I wonder if we're going to eventually see a Metal Gear Rising 2.

Platinum is a shell of itself, it wouldn't be the same. Best you can do is play Survive's multiplayer horde mode with a melee weapon, since there is a few MGR cosmetics at higher levels.
What I would love is for MGS4 to be remade into something that isn't a confusing mess. Give us the warzone merc simulator that was promised to us and only exists for the first few missions of the game, dammit.

In a perfect world, everything post MGS3 should be completely retconned.

I honestly wonder if they would remake Sons of Liberty, but the areas in that game are so close quarters that there isn't really anything to add to the gameplay.

I only support the remake of SoL if:
1) They don't update it for the "modern audiences". I don't just make it woke, I mean keep it period appropriate, everything about the setting and writing is perfect and it would not work in any other time period. No smart phones, no reference to the modern internet, nothing like that. Keep it as is.
2) We get the original intended battle against Metal Gear Ray in destroyed NYC, even if it's only a hidden final boss.

Otherwise, the game is still aging like fine wine. Oh, and bring back the blood in the Tanker intro of the game, for some reason that was removed from the slashed up corpses in every single release after the original one on PS2, even Subsistence.
