The leftist giving up? Giving up hope and just accepting a fate you hate? What about protesting and activism? I mean genuinely the human desire to create will never go away, if you think that is more of a lost cause than fucking palestine is then idk fucking kill yourself.

Also 'my cat took a shit this morning; we should ban AI'. Who said poetry was dead? The last is pure fucking shadow the hedgehog shit. If humans are such parasites and you hate parasites so much then why don't you just kill yourself you absolute hypocrite?

I am willing to vouch that person didn't clean her cat's litter and shit, so it actually began to smell really bad mixing with whatever chemicals are in the cat litter to kill bacteria, pathogens, and reduce the foul smell all because that nigga was busy drawing. It's OK to draw, but never neglect your responsibilities.

Nah as much as that might be the case changing cat litter always fucking dusts up with that ammonia type stench. That's just cat litter. The fact that she's surprised by that however. That's a different story because that should be 100% of the time at least in my experience. Either way she's fucking retarded and thinking that humans force cats to use them is incredibly retarded considering they will actively seek something like a litter tray out and it's designed to let them still do some of their instinctual behaviours.

No idea why telling cats to not shit on the floor makes humans parasites in any manner though. Or than some sort of autistic meltdown or something.

The "paying cover designers" part pisses me off. She mentioned the indie projects as if commissioning someone to do your cover art magically fixes the problem of le evil ai and muh starving artist.

Guess what, motherfucker? Indie creators trying to make their name have a harder time BECAUSE of that. They need to eat and drink. They need to pay rent or buy houses. They pay for vehicles and fares. They need to bathe. They need Wi-Fi. They need repairs. They need devices. They need electricity. They may have studios and they pay for that, too. And they do this INDEPENDENTLY. ALONE. VERY LITTLE OUTSIDE HELP. And that bitch nigga is adding to the pressure that the oh so perfect creators must pay for overpriced cover art in addition to their priorities in life. Those poor independent creators are already paying character designers, storyboard writers, coders, riggers, animators, editors and voice actors, and YOU have the gall to tell THEM to SPEND MORE? That is a very fucking out-of-touch take and this is when I'd say she should check her privilege.

Then, when the artists start to drop like flies from the illness and stress, they go HEALTHCARE BAD, EVERYONE TOXIC AND BAD, WE SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER AS A COMMUNITY WAH WAH WAH YADDA YADDA YADDA BLAH BLAH BLAH AI BAD AI BAD AI BAD FUCK AI BOO HOO HOO SO SAD. That's right. The regret only comes last and they have the gall to blame everyone else for the toll of the pressure put on the artists and it is sickening. They literally are similar to Japan's big manga publishers who give all sorts of tight deadlines to the mangakas then the mangakas fall severely ill - that also includes toxic fans pressuring mangakas to finish the chapter NOW, NOW, NOW. Those mangakas barely use AI and look what happens to them: they die or fall ill then everyone goes "oh what could've been done, how horrible fate is."

The internet creator community in general is very, very cruel. Do something that slightly differs from what people expect from you and they treat you like some person accused of black magic in the Medieval Ages. People need a lot of strategies to attract the right attention. Thank God for algorithms and the block button. Thank God for the ability to ignore haters. Thank God for AI and other innovations for creators. Fuck the bullies and crybabies. They are so mean when they demand then when something happens to their favorite creators because of that shitty behavior, they act like they don't have a role in what happened.

AI is what's weeding out the weak. The presence of AI should be a challenge to develop more unique and interesting art styles. Like I said, the art community shits itself when something doesn't meet its standards like when they saw that Miku fanart with prominent teeth and when they see corporate memphis. Or, for more extreme examples, they start fixing art, bitching because someone's skin tone is too dark or light, there are not enough fat lgbt faggots, sending death threats to people for drawing women with prominent chests no matter the cup size, and making everything so political. Everyone is so busy bitching about dots and lines they cannot face the challenge of something that can generate the said dots and lines quickly in a "soulless evil slop boo hoo" manner. Either adapt to the new condition or fall. Develop your art style and writing style. Explore. Learn to code and develop new skills. BE OPEN TO AI VOICE CHANGERS AND CODERS, EVEN. Stand out so le evil AI won't copy you top easily. Best part? All of it belongs to YOU. You are in full control of your creation, like, for example, you can write a story and also design characters for the cover, how nice is that? You become a jack of all trades for that, and you get to save more money and time because why ask someone to do it for you when you can do it alone? It's the flexible who survive. There's no need to be a bitch or deal with people being bitchy if you can master and carry it out on your own AT YOUR PACE.

Had to get this off my chest because it's a hard and heavy realisation, truly, when you immerse yourself in the creator community. There are lots of wonderful things there and amazing people, truly, but fuck, they should really get their shit together.

The cats we have now are literally descended from small desert cats that instinctually cover their scat to avoid scaring off prey with its scent. Cats literally made agriculture and stockpiling food sustainable in the long term. Grain stores attracted rodents and other vermin, that would not only eat the grain but befoul it as well.

Vermin attracted cats, who would kill the vermin for food, were completely uninterested in the grain, and even had the decency to go outside and bury their scat instead of befouling the grain.

I hate how ignorant these PETA-type antinatalist plebbitors are in their obsession with hating humanity.

This video feels like one of those 'practice eye contact' videos for autists. What she's saying doesn't help that either.

Also why the fuck do people not understand how energy works? The people making the first light bulbs from some copper sheets glued together and a glorified shakeweight had a better concept of electricity than these people. Idk maybe it was just me but did no one pay attention in school? What the fuck do you mean it uses a load of electricity and creates heat? It uses electricity to fucking create heat. That is how computers work. An x wattage computer will use the same amount of power and create the same amount of heat as it will in any other manner. Also the whole using water thing is retarded but like 'keep them cool' as if computers can't run at 90c. Also complaining about fucking nanowrimo whatever, why yes the collapse of flooperdoda has had an immense impact on the didowibbwo industry. Fuck off back to teletubbies you fucking french looking bitch.

When I was a kid we had two cats and normally they could open doors unless they were properly closed. One day we had a storm with high winds during the night which managed to slam the bathroom door closed while one of the cats was in there. She got stuck in there until the morning and needed to piss. Instead of just pissing anywhere like she should have done according to this woman she pissed in a low wide bucket under the sink because it was the closest thing to a litter tray and then had clearly tried to 'bury' it by 'digging' at the bathroom floormat. But yea that's something we force them to do and is definitely not instinctual.

I've mentioned this pissing me off repeatedly in this thread.

It is always so weird to me how art has a double standard... or rather, I guess a standard all on its own. Artists MUST be paid, period, end of discussion. All other roles in a creative project? Work for free until you make a profit.

Writing a book? Writer, editor, publisher, they all get nothing until it sells, but asking artists to work with you on a cover and THEY have to wait for the sales to come in to get paid? WOAH. Absolutely not. That's abuse. You want them to work "FOR EXPOSURE" and that is a no-no.

Developing an indie game? Great! Programmers work for free until the game is complete and hopefully sells, but if you want art assets? That's right, you have to pay for it first with money you don't have. Absolutely no way any 3D modeler or even a sprite artist is going to put in even a minute of work without pay. And if you ask, that's rude because uh sorry sweatie, artists need a living wage.

I've never understood the logic. Artists see themselves as a sacred being that must always be profitable while everyone else works free. Hell, I've even participated in game jams before. Programmers, writers, designers, all were happy to form teams, but artists? Nope. The game jam set up a separate channel for just artists where they could advertise their commissions. They literally sat in a Discord server where everyone else was working for free to make a fun indie game project with no intent of selling it... just to beg for money to work on said project.

That latter example really made me MATI, because all the other participants... were fine with it. The jam even implemented a zero tolerance "no AI" rule and people applauded it. All of them loved the fact that they were going to work for free just for a hobby/learning experience/fun, while artists demanded pay. I just don't get it.

Great point. For being all about in favour of SOYence and evolution, they sure don't know where things come from.

I believe it is artists """invest""" a lot of time in their craft (as they claim, as if learning music/songwriting and coding isn't difficult!!!) and thus they are "entitled" compensation as soon as they begin their careers.

I kind of agree that artists are entitled, but I think a video game is seen as larger than the sum of its parts, a project shouldered by the person who wants to make it, and he pays people who help him accomplish that goal.

If an artist really wanted to make a video game but couldn't code at all (prior to AI), I don't think they would find success if they approached a programmer and said "hey, I'm making this game, I need you to code it for free while paying me for the art I'm contributing."

The kind of person who enters a game jam is usually someone who thinks they can passably finish a working game, which means they're a coder and not an artist. If there was...I don't know, some kind of kinetic art jam with sculptures enhanced by servo action, there might be programmers and amateur roboticists waiting in the wings to be paid for their assistance with that aspect of things.

Rhetorical question, but I’ll ask it anyway: Why is an unskilled human not an indictment against all people, but an inefficient LLM is somehow an indictment against all AI? Every single “AI is dumb” argument I’ve seen is just “I used a bad model with vague prompting, zero training, and no post-processing and it didn’t make exactly what I envisioned in my head, I guess all AI is STUPID and will always be stupid forever and ever chuds :smug:“.

It’s almost like expecting all AI to be equally good at everything is as unrealistic as expecting all humans to be equally good at everything.

It almost verges on soft bigotry of low expectations.

I stumbled across someone unusually self-assured and confident in his stance against AI. Frankly, a breath of fresh air amongst the fearmongering and REEEEing.

TBH, somewhat valid. I could see the AI dragon's right arm is at a somewhat weird angle and same goes for the fire somewhat. The eye also gives me an awkward feel. However, both have their respective charm and a bit of editing won't hurt.

We need more people like this motherfucker to show that the human artists are the ones in control at the end of the day instead of senseless seething and malding.

I don't disagree but I also just think this person might be kinda retarded. Just judging by the # chatgpt and the fact it seemingly took a rectangular image and made it square, as well as the global yellowing. This guy must have just given the image to chatgpt and idk said recreate this or something? I don't get what the point is. You took an image and gave it to ai and are surprised that it looks different? It's obviously not trying to recreate the image because it's so close to the original, it's more just denoising the image that you already gave it which obviously is going to look almost identical but just with a couple details confused and the style slightly altered. The ai here isn't even trying to recreate the style. If you gave it the original image and said create something else in this style then maybe you'd be on to something but this just isn't.

Here's a better example of what this person meant.

I'd say it's actually much closer than the dragon version.

Copyright fanatics would know the case precedents:
Copyright fanatics on deviantART seem to be woefully ignorant of how copyright laws works. It seems that in their delusional minds, copyright is ultra-strict, with little or no exceptions. A number think Fair Use does not even work, unless a case is taken to court and the defendant wins. And of course they would like Fair Use to be repealed. And they are the kind who think the slightest copying is horrible "art theft", and are also likely among the crowd who REEEs at AI art nowadays... along with "furries" and soys.

And at the same time, these types don't see any irony at all when they paint something based on a reference, and by that, they mean tracing.
