It could be that he had liver issues too.

Anecdotally, actual alcoholics I have known who were so in their 20s and 30s, tended to be able to scrape through with jobs which they could get away with doing while half cut or managed to get enough casual work on a semi regular basis to get by.
This at least limited their drinking to a steady but light stream to keep the shakes away rather than a constant binge until blasted cycle.
The losers who became pot dealers who barely went out tended to shift over to smoking rather than drinking all the time.
Whatever the health problems pot can cause, it pretty much leaves your liver alone.

All in all if I were to make an uneducated guess, it is probably down to the lack of ability to drink the amount that Cobes appeared to do daily for the average 20-30s alcoholic.
But of course there were the other factors of hygiene and surroundings for Cobes.

He was the reason I was introduced to the Farms in the first place, but more than that, he was a genuine funny oddball that deserved much, much better than to die alone, surrounded by nothing but disgusting sex-pests and leeches in a no doubt mold-infested trailer.

RIP cobra, im feeling very emotional over his passing, his dad must be devastated, please be kind to him hes going through the worst things right now.. If you have issues, people love you and will miss you even if you think they wont, I hope you all take care and im here if anyone needs to talk or needs support
 
Can’t stop listening to the video Clint posted, It’s absolutely a heart breaker. I really hope Clint doesn’t pick up any of Josh’s vices like drinking or spiral himself.
He doesn’t deserve that, just like Josh didn’t deserve feeling as much discomfort and pain as he did towards the end of his life.
