So a year or so ago my Amazon account was trying to force me via its ever more obnoxious "books you may like" suggestion algorithm to purchase this.

Genuinely unsure why it was being crowbarred on to my feed as I have not bought books on amazon for the best part of a decade though I suspect its producers paid for a bunch of promotions to force it to the front page, but the fact it kept on being thrown in my face made me do some digging and apparently it is exactly what I suspected, a Reddit tier "look at how unique and quirky yet smart and nerdy" personality prop full of overdesigned prepper flavoured waffle about "how to rebuild civilisation from scratch" via surface level dilettante summations of various sciences and technologies with vague "how to" guides, all of which are illustrated like a shitty D&D knockoff gamebook.

In short its the textbook example....literally....of overpriced consoomer slop for supercilious manchildren to loudly declare they purchased so they can mentally LARP as a post apocalyptic polymath wizard, and by the time my research had concluded I found myself asking who the fuck would waste their money on this shit?

Fast forward to today and....

The concept is good, but I doubt that, if you really wanted it to be useful as reference, you would devote 90% of the page space to flowery illustrations.

90% would mean it would have more information than what was given. It's closer to 95% It's a nice looking book, but that's all it has going for it. The Anarchist Cookbook would be a better purchase as it at least has recipes.
