The Nixon talk makes me realize, one thing I see with this level of push and drive with Trump 47 is how much I hate how William F. Buckley controlled the idea of conservatives and made them the Washington Generals. Rush did his best to wrestle it free but could only do so much before he had a free space like twitter to back him up. But Buckley never understood the idea that morals mean nothing to the other side, that clever witticisms mean nothing when people vote for racial identity, and line must go up free trade just has to be good for exporting western ideas, there could never be an alternative like soft authoritarianism letting millions die in factories in exchange for global power.

I mean, Camp of the Saints was seen as this taboo thing in 2016 that got people noticing following the Rapefugee wave in europe of 2015, but now it's just accepted. Fuck, the ending of the british royal family arranging a marriage with some poojeet or paki at this point is when, not if.

Lmao what do you mean don't talk with the other half of the party that's involved in negotiations?
He waited until the meeting was over to talk to Putin.

Interesting that you defended the concept of him abandoning his meeting with other foreign powers halfway through to get Putins input though.

Out of curiosity, if assuming the original reporting was accurate, why would you support him leaving before the meeting was through to talk to Putin alone? He could have just put Putin on speaker phone so he could participate in the meeting if that was the case.

What is “age play” you ask?

Whoever created the site may have reverted to a younger age grammatically.

The real kicker is that this is only a preview of what America's future will look like under President Newsom, or whoever they decide to install as the next Democratic president, it's too early to say now.

Bruh, it's not a deal where someone is surrendering, there's two sides that are only going to keep killing each other the longer it goes on. It's kind of bonkers to think their word isn't important here.
If you cut them out, they'll just get angry, and keep attacking, war continues, and the whole meeting was for nothing. Obviously you talk to them too if you want a chance.

Nixon got fucked over because the big Three networks were out to get him and he didn't have a Fox News or Conservative media ecosystem to defend him and put pressure on Republican Congressmen to hold the line and protect him.
Something lost on a lot of people younger than me is just how much control the establishment powers had over the nation prior to the internet. Zoomers have no frame of reference for this.

I agree, which would have made it insane that he would abandon one of those parties during a highly public meeting to talk to the other who chose not to participate.

As we know now, Trump didn't do that. I just think it's interesting that when people did think he did that, they chose to support it.

Nixon, born in 1913, had a fundamentally different view of what the US was both historically and morally.
Nixon genuinely believed in the republican experiment of America and to resign and save the union a crisis was what a man from his background believed to be the moral option.
Nixon saw his country go from one thing to a very different thing in the span of his lifetime and it was the hope that if his quiet stepping down could in some way recapture what the US was, it was worth the personal indignity.

Trump, having seen this play out prior and knowing there will be no going back or rehabilitation, did not quietly go away thinking his being the bigger man would reverse course the machinations of his enemies.

Buckley's conservatism today is a relic from another age. Fortunately, political parties are not static and a change in course is necessary from time to time.

That doesn't even make fucking sense.
These stupid fucks don't even realize that memeing on someone has to actually have some sort of connection to reality to have any impact, right?
He called a queer a woman because theyre so fucking queer which is either transphobic, homophobic or misogynistic. Then he calls someone woke for pushback.

He keeps this up he will lose the left, and any chance at a presidency but he will make me like him a crumb.

im collecting stuff from that account, i think ill give them some more rope to hang themselves with but it seems like theyre pulling an elol and trying to endear themselves to rightoids, with what i can only assume will end [with]* exactly the same outcome, ie completely failing to do so and royally pissing off any D who might have been inclined to support him.

i have little sympathy for it since their 2016 election strategy involved crucifying me for being racist sexist mysogynist homophobic etc, and be that as it may im collecting allllll the receipts from this campaign

I haven't really thought about Rush trying to seize that aspect away from Buckley in such blunt terms.

Ayn Rand was certainly a humorless nail bent on cutting through niceties and leftist ideological cancers for me growing up. She just didn't have any conceptions of pragmatism and winning and losing.

Maybe I shoulda listened to more Rush.
