Since the concept is a lifetime game that grows age-appropriately with the user, you might require all new accounts to be under a certain age cut-off. So an adult who just wants to talk dirty to teenagers has to maintain an account in good standing for 5-10 years before they've aged into a bracket where that's even an option... and then in another 5-10 years their account has aged out of that bracket.

Are there perverts who would put in that work? Yes.
Are there enough of them to be a problem? I doubt it.

Lego fucking sucks these days. Their quality keeps going down compared to newer competitors like Cobi, Cada, BlueBricks and many other products. Imagine splurging out on a 300+ Dollar set, and Lego still gives you stickers to put on the bricks, meanwhile even a 50$ Cobi set has everything printed in place properly. Its even more incredible how Lego still has a sizeable community that suggests sets and building plans, and Lego alters them so heavily and dumbs them down so much they don't even look anything like what was suggested. One of the worst offenders in that regard is their Orient Express set. They even printed what the suggestion looked like in the instructions. Meanwhile MouldKing rereleased that set, for less money, fully motorized, way more detailed, closer to the original submission and with lights for less money, and it even comes fully printed, no stickers needed. Of course the brick quality is better as well.
Pisses me off how I haven't found anyone in the English speaking internet that doesn't criticize that shit. Everyone seems to gobble it up. Meanwhile, the only guy with some influence who shits on Lego for their dwindling quality is "Held der Steine" who's a German YouTuber in the Lego-Sphere..
Hell, Lego even constantly tries to fuck with shops that don't exclusively sell Legos, but also sell other brands. They tried it with Cease and Desists, threats of suing, and using their lawyers to stop shipments.
And keep in mind, none of it is really enforceable because the patents on their bricks have run out long ago, and just patenting specific styles of bricks isn't really possible, as everyone uses everything these days.
And the argument of them being purely kids toys so the quality can be mid doesn't hold up true anymore with how much Lego sets increased in price, scope, and amounts of bricks.

Give me autism reactions or something. But I just had to post that, even just to bring up the fact that if you're looking for a set to build, look at the competitors too, they do it way better than the original.

There is no age verification needed. I'm pretty sure existing law can already deal with this problem. Roblox let adult content exist on a platform for kids. If there was age verification, roblox wouldn't have to check its users (it is a game for kids after all).

The problem with this analogy is that, regardless of whatever misleading advertising or marketing they say, Roblox is not an after school program or a summer camp. Roblox is an arcade on the boardwalk, a place for entertainment and socialization that both kids and adults inhabit equally, with some games being kid friendly and some games being more mature. Roblox should still face consequences if they mislead people of that fact, or if their moderation notices bad interactions and does nothing about it. But in isolation, parents who leave their kid unattended while playing Roblox would be like parents standing outside the arcade while their kid goes in alone, and then being shocked and aghast when they learn a stranger said disgusting things to them, or that they started playing a game too violent for them like CarnEvil. Ultimately it's the parents responsibility to parent their kids, and to warn them of potential dangers and how to avoid them.

If for whatever reason you want a website like Roblox to be a summer camp, the only way you'll get anywhere close to that is to create a rigorous system that ensures only kids are using it. That means ID verification for kids, which laws like COPPA would paradoxically oppose for anyone under 13 to protect their privacy. But even if there were exceptions, the question becomes would you really trust a third party corporation or the government to handle that information about your kids and what websites they go on? Given the actions of our current congress, I have my doubts.

It is a logical conclusion when it comes to creating age-exclusive spaces.
This does not mean universal ID requirements are coming.

It relies massively how the laws are written and what their goal is. If you want to have spaces safe for children the best way to prevent predators from going on there is to require real ID registration, with an automated process that auto-deletes accounts after a period of not being used, in addition to legal prohibition of account sales for games that are marketed as "child safe spaces".

I agree that we need to keep an eye on the legislation and make sure it is tailored specifically for the purpose and does not over-reach.

they need to do what TF2 did and make it so you can't see or use chat if you haven't paid for something. Maybe some basic emotes but that's it. Then making the purchase of robux require an ID. This requires a predator to show their ID and pay at least 5 bucks for each burner account to even begin to try and go after kids.
