New peeve unlocked: every Latino dude at work thinks we're running a speed-dating service. Doesn’t matter if she’s 22 and hot or 62 with a gunt, they’re in her ear like “mami this, mami that.” I glad they’re sharpening their pickup game instead of doing their jobs.

When people type in all lower case, including "I". Like, I get it. They're trying to look cool and disaffected, like the shift key is just too much effort and they can't be assed to extend their pinky slightly. I was a teenager once. I understand the ruse.

But here's the thing. I know 90% of those fuckers are on phones, and I know phones auto capitalize "I" and the beginning of sentences. So every time I see this sort of behavior I'm picturing some asshole manually de-capitalizing letters constantly, putting extra effort into making it look like they're putting less effort into posting. And it's just ridiculous.

Unfortunately I've had to capitalize every singular "i" on my phone because, for some reason, it defaults to lowercase unless it's a contraction. It makes no sense.

All the prompts I get to switch to Windows 11 (updates for 10 stop in October), which I can't do because my rig supposedly isn't compatible-a "hardware limitation". Eat shit, Microsoft. I am not building a new computer just to install your fucking bloated spyware kit masquerading as an OS.

People who wear thick sweats on hot days. I'm over here pushing the boundaries of public decency and here we've got some octogenarian woman fussing with coupons in front of me wearing black sweats and a North Face vest. Got heat stroke just looking at her.

Black people do this too. Drives me nuts.

I swear I've gotten 20 emails and tons of notifications about that from Microsoft, and it's grinding my gears.

Here's my spec list.
i5-8250U @ 3.2ghz 4 cores 8 threads, 32gb of DDR4 2400 mHz, 2tb NVME SSD, Intel UHD 620 Graphics iGPU. CPU constantly pulls 30-40 watts but sometimes pulls 50-60 watts.

This bitch barely runs windows 10. Any and all browsers will freeze up on this laptop, Chrome, Edge, IE, Opera, Opera GX, Firefox. Tried them all, and they all freeze. The file explorer will sometimes freeze as well.

I have a pile of junk and I turned off some shit in EFI or whatever it's called now just to make it Windows 11-incompatible. Good luck installing your virus bitch.
Oh Microsoft made it so that every PC is compatible now. So even though my 8th gen CPU is too old to have the TPM microsoft requires, I can still install Win11 but without security updates. So if I switch to Win11, I would be missing antivirus updates, which is exactly what will happen if I stick with Win 10. That's why they're spamming me with notices to update, because I technically can update.

The whole thing is fucking retarded. If microsoft wants me to upgrade so badly then they can send me a new laptop or PC.

All this computer talk makes me wonder how I was even able to run Photoshop on my laptop 20 years ago.
I know Photoshop does a lot more than it used to, especially when it now has AI features but... I'm not doing that much more with it than I did 20 years ago.
I'm just a basic user so my overall impression is that the last decade of updates and performance improvements is mostly unimportant for average users and it's all a huge racket.
But someone who's a gamer is probably going to school me nevermind that I could give a shit about the bloated needs of cutting edge video games.

Wrong.

All I had to do was disable these. My mobo supports both of them (or I thought that), but I've turned them off.

The "Secure Boot" thing may be new. I don't care. I deliberately disabled TPM though. I am safe from Windows 11.

Didn’t make me angry, just more annoyed and confused.

At work the other night and I had my boots off polishing them before I started. Younger guy I work with, maybe early 20s or so saw me and seemed incredulous (dude! What are you doing?) told him I was polishing my boots, what’s it look like and he says “yeah, but WHY? That’s just overkill!” Seemed almost offended I was shining my boots as he couldn’t seem to get it through his head, just repeating “yeah but WHY?”

We work in a professional environment and are expected to dress and look professional. That includes our footwear. Doesn’t look good walking around in ratty ass sneakers that look like they’ve never been cleaned. Didn’t think it was a difficult concept but apparently so.

yeah but it looks dumb asf if you use default capitalisation. Do i think it always works? No. This is all written on ios without using the shift. Jack jim and jill. I agree though, they should just capitalise properly.

Wrong.

They won't force it on you with those disabled but once Win10 stops being supported you will be able to upgrade by choice to win11 without security features.

People who push to the front to get off a train or out of an elevator and then walk at a fucking snail's pace.
ditto, but with cars. people who fly by you doing doing 20 over, then slow down and do 10 under after passing you then speed up every time you get to a passing lane or a broken line.
