The archive that recently got taken down via DMCA shit recently had a feature in it that would disable those things and remove them from the comic if you okayed it IIRC. I have a big feeling some of the people upset about that gettign removed werent upset due to the fan stuff getting taken down but rather the "correctthink" fanstuff getting taken down for the ones that'd use the "slur removal" feature.
For context to those not in the know of these somehow, these were a running Q and A joke that started with several people asking if the characters were fat. This was also before he lost his spine and started censoring things.

If Homestuck doesn't start with a minute long copyrighted Con-Air clip in the first few pages and end as a whole with another Con-Air quote it isn't the same piece of media. Hussie was so inherently punk he just put the fucking movie clips in and fuck all copyright, Hook is canon to Homestuck, deal with it. There's no way it can work now with "stand-in" songs or Doug Walker style Con-Air acted clips or whatever.

Honestly, I can't wrap my head around why Toby would willingly jump into this. He's always struck me as a media savy guy, even managing to create a professional distance between him, his career and the unrepentant cancer that was the Undertale fandom in its prime. So why this? Anyone with some basic knowledge of Hussie and Viv can see this is a grade A creative dumpster fire in the making, or that there is at least a major risk of this happening. Even if Toby is nostalgic of his homestuck days since Hussies basement is what basically made him, why endanger your professional career over this? I don't think it's money either, Deltarune ch3&4 made millions of dollars.

He got his start working for the biggest autistic man online outside of chris chan; Andrew Hussie.
A man who dressed like a juggalo and threatens to lolsuit people who make fun of him.
He was a part of a group just as bad as vivziepop that has a long history of equally horrible decisions and autism he directly supported.
Andrew is the reason why vivziepop humor is so bad because she was directly inspired by this series and invader zim.
If you read that horrible piece of shit; you will see the constant amount of "fuck," "shit," etc flung around every second just like vivziepop.
This is not even mentioning the clowns, her design inspirations, etc that you will see if you read that webcomic for just five minutes.
This is where all of that came from. This was ground zero for the creature we known as helluva boss and haziben hotel we have today.
Toby Fox was not only friends with Andrew Hussie but lived in his fucking basement making this series with him.
If you want a taste of the autism Toby surrounded himself with; you can look at thier kickstarter disaster from 2012 they been trying to wipe from the internet.
This drama included them being fucking stupid and getting robbed by unknown developers.
Ruining kickstarter rewards like the tarot deck because it didn't fit the headcanon of some fans like Jade being black, roxanne being obese, etc.
There is so much and Toby Fox was there for all of it and still supports it.

Considering the nature of the Smash Bros. community, it makes total sense for it to be connected to Homestuck and Vivzie’s works.
If an evil chud said that the sky was blue, these faggots would be coping about how it’s only blue during the day. Disagreeing with something because you don’t like who said it is fundamentally retarded. Even the worst person you know can make a good point.
It’s almost like people are more willing to voice criticism in the anonymity of the Internet rather than go out in public and openly shit on it? Besides, why would you go to a convention just to mock the new series that’s coming out? The own seems to be that all the people mocking it are terminally online, but this person probably spends all day on Twitter guntguarding Vivzie.

Come to think of it, does Vivzie even like Homestuck? I mean I assume she does if she's making a fucking cartoon out of it, but this is the first I've ever heard of her acknowledging the series, has she made fan art of any of the characters beforehand? Vivzie-historians fact check me on this pls.

I'm somewhat aware of his past controversies and spergouts and I know he composed most of the best songs for HS, but I've always had the idea that he wisened up after Undertale and after seeing the (further) crash and burn of Hussie, and learnt to remove or at least somewhat conceal himself from his community, so seeing him do this now is kind of baffling to me. The last drama I remember him being in is him adding the sona of a gross fatfur fetishist as a secret boss in Undertale because the furry was a 1k backer and he was too retarded to just outright deny him and refund the money. This was all the way back in 2015, I think he's done a good job cultivating a likeable "le quirky and mysterious" internet persona for the past decade despite his history and his fanbase(s), so throwing all of this work away for a vivzie + hussie hellcombo production seems to be counterintuitive.
I did not know about the depths of the hiveswap fiasco though. Thanks for the article, it was a very good read.

Apparently Vivzie said in the panel that she wasn’t a fan of Homestuck. Andrew Hussie approached her for help in making the series. However, Skye Henwood of Spindlehorse was a fan of Homestuck which is why she is a director. I got this from some random Instagram reel but it should be said somewhere here.
