Drive-by question. How the hell does this company think this behavior is going to work in the long run? Is the legal department completely compromised and/or retarded? Of course right now they are keeping a lid on this issue kinda. But once it breaks out and real eyes are on them, it is moves like this that will have authorities crawling through their shit and hard questions that are not being the be doged easily.

I do hope this aspect of Roblox gets investigated more in the future, as I feel like there’s far worse stuff that has yet to be uncovered.
If you don’t know, there’s a feature on Roblox called DevEx that allows people to exchange Robux they created from games or catalog items to actual money. This means that Roblox developers are actually getting paid for their work. This is a concern when you consider that Roblox is a game for children and as a result, people who are using DevEx to get money are often children.
There’s probably far more exploitation going on behind the scenes than we currently know. The slop games can’t make it to the top without using some immoral tactics, I suppose. There are a ton of examples of people doing horrible shit to get more money off their Roblox games.

Doubtful. There is unfortunately no criminal liability on Roblox's part, even though in a sane world there should be. As far as I am aware the only legal consequences they face are from civil suits (which are ongoing as we speak) and Roblox, like many other amoral companies, takes the position that it's cheaper to pay settlements than to not be a piece of shit.
They won't say that. They will cite their rules on """platform safety.""" They could even lie and just make up shit like they did with Ruben Sim. It's not like anyone they sue has the money to continue litigation to the phase where a judge or jury tries the allegations (and finds them untrue).

Adding onto Roblox's bans towards people who catch predators, they've now made it so it's essentially against their policies to take matters into your own hands, and just telling these people to just use the shitty automated moderation that doesn't do anything.
Now, you will be banned for catching predators on their site.

Roblox's only obligation is to their shareholders. Pedophiles and child predators buying children robux is good for Roblox's bottom line. People like Ruben Sim and Schlep exposing these nonces on their platform is bad for business and shareholder value. Having impotent systems run by AI and Indians gives the illusion to governments, regulators, and parents that they are serious about child safety (they aren't).

They don't want predators reported. Why would they? Reporting them admits to the general public and the media that they exist on the platform. Their official stance on it has to be they simply don't exist and it's literally impossible for pedophiles to groom or molest your kids through their services, even though such things are basically inevitable on any platform where kids hang out.
The most generous interpretation of Roblox's behavior is that they are motivated to cover up sexual predators to protect their image. But there's really no reason to assume they don't have predators working for them actively aiding and abetting the practice. Getting hired on as a moderator is exactly the thing a predator would want to do.
Moderation for child safety on all internet platforms should be subject to a transparent open civilian auditing process. Regulations should compel large internet platforms to open up their moderation practices to review by the public and they should be compelled to ban predators when the public identifies them through a SEPARATE entity from the corporation itself. Keeping the entire thing private within the company is always going to lead to this situation where they just want to cover it up and may even be captured by the bad actors. There needs to be some external public accountability or it's just going to keep getting worse. Accountability to shareholders doesn't cut it in situations like this; they only care about the money and not about saving kids.

Schlep has reported predators to Roblox before.
As seen in the thread, Roblox only took action against this person when both Schlep and JiDion made their videos about it. And beforehand Roblox was writing off the report with "Please know that Roblox is not affiliated with any third-party communication apps, such as Discord, Skype, etc."
Roblox recommends this form of taking action against predators, but when people actually do it, they write it off. I can't think of a single time where this has actually worked, and there's other examples I can think of, but this is the prime example.

Because of the new policy, RoCatchers has to disband, which means less pedophiles will be found and/or exposed, which could potentially put children at greater risk.
