I fucking hate modern developers.

It's not even that I necessarily disagree, it's the fact that this guy's ego is so inflated that he feels the need to talk down to me with his mighty cock of knowledge.
I like it if a Ukrainian or someone from a neighboring country, who knows what a vile, disgusting, brown, Muslim infested, multicultural, Zio-shithole Russia is, wrote this.
If it's some programmer-socks-wearing faggot just parroting MSM or MAM then they should hang themselves.

Is it possible Jason went to study entomology there?
Very likely not; it's not a program the university offers.

But could that have been his only university experience, and is he even lying about the entomology thing?
Would be another day ending in y, as someone else said before.
I wouldn't trust a random Second Life blog post on the academic history of Jason. Most likely case was that Jason talked about enrolling in Woodbury to get building perms on their plot but using some common sense, decided that it was a retarded move to waste ~$20k (if the poster is right about tuition) for this endeavor. There wouldn't be a reason for him to list a University on his linkedin if he dropped out halfway through. I'm willing to concede that he's exaggerating the entomology degree he was going for but everything else seems unlikely.

Remember when some open source software wiped pc's when used in russia and it ended up wiping a huge database of documenting crimes done by russians?

Statistically more trustworthy than Jason
> decided that it was a retarded move to waste ~$20k for this endeavor.
Jason is very retarded and both parents are rich AF
> There wouldn't be a reason for him to list a University on his linkedin if he dropped out halfway through.
False

But yes it's good to be skeptical

I can't find any specifics like "where" or "when", but Mald claims he dropped out of his mystery entomology college after 3 years :story::
ento.mp4
Fucking hell, I gave him the benefit of the doubt by assuming he dropped out ~2 years in at most. Faggot was almost finished his degree (if he wasn't flunking classes), why did he drop out? Sure the field was "useless" but Jason usually jumps at adding shit to his credentials.

It's also wasteful and bad workflow priority. It's 100% being a busy idiot in the context of heartbound.

You're just making extra work for something most people are at best going to ignore or at worst are going to be distracted or annoyed by.
That's a good point I didn't consider. I assumed he did it this way because deep down he knew the game itself had no real substance, so he made Shaye overdo the sprites. That's likely why he asked that guy to make 100 songs? For 2 hours of gameplay? It became an easier sell. "Look how good the art and music are!" Meanwhile the game itself was worse than shovelware, but the backers didn't know that, they just saw high effort animations and good music. The perfect bait. On the surface it looked and sounded amazing so why not buy early access? Coincidentally, the two things everybody likes about the game are things he didn't actually do himself. He also parades those two things around the most like with the charity event playing the game's music and him using Shaye's art everywhere. It really is just like his Second Life days. The things he creates are hidden away while the more talented work not created by him is presented as his own.

I wonder if his writing has improved at all and it's impacting development. The tonal and dialogue base he laid when he was an edgy depressed 20-something sending DMs to gay chinks over 8 years is stale.

His writing, especially these particular examples, reek more of early 2000s deviantart "Penguin of Doom! XD LOLsorandom" than anything edgy or 4chan adjacent. Plus he's a furry doing the uwu wholesome bean shtick. I doubt his writing is any different and he realizes it. That's why he refuses to code dialogue live because "no spoilers."

Curious if any of the data monkeys can enlighten:

Across the history of streams, how many gifts/bits do his staff do in the regular? Are the hype trains the only times they tend to drop gifts or bits?

You mean from his paid staff? Only confirmed proxy dono has been Khronos so far, but it's common. If someone can send me a database I can model it for the rest of them.

Watching the QuinTheo vid. Someone in his discord is called PotatoSec, and is doing the whole "woah! Tell me where you found that, ya know just so I don't go looking at it or something..."

Could be a tragic coincidence that they use that name, or it's an alt.

His discord ain't taking it that well:

Love the 'incorrect! Nightbot, show me Jason's linkedin profile to prove the truth to everyone here!' at the end.

Holy shit, I was out of the discord for literally a minute, went back in and the original post was deleted. The discussion went on for a while, the usual glazing you'd expect from his fanbase, but a mod came in and shut it down pronto:

So looks like they are gulaging any mention of drama as swiftly as possible, at least in the general chat.

Edit: Helbeglin here seems to be an ardent Jason dickrider. He's the one who tried to link Jason's Linkedin page into the chat, he gets mogged by one of his own over a technicality:

Snakey fuckers think they can pull a fast one on a new wikipage, the thumbs up is from Herakles, the chatter who first posted the wiki deletion pic.

Oh shit again?

Hahahaha

Honestly I think the Wikipedia page should stay since he is/was a pretty big figure in the streaming world, but I don't know how to say that in a way that's acceptable to wikipedia jannysperg standards (and I don't wanna expose myself by making an account there to argue about it). I agree with this post that argues for it but doesn't go into gunt guarding territory:
Keep — Since the 2022 deletion, the article’s subject has won two awards for streaming content and gained notoriety for his political activism. Adding a section on his Heartbound game also contributes notability, and is a suitable replacement for having an entire separate article about the game.I find the accusation of 'an obvious attempt to circumvent ... prior consensus' fails WP:AGF, and the conclusion that the previous threads 'collectively [establish] that Wikipedia should not cover this topic' infers too much. One thread is recent but establishes that an entire article on its topic would be excessive, but that doesn't imply that a subsection of another article wouldn't be an appropriate way of documenting it until/unless it gains more notability; the other is three years old and clearly predates significant events increasing the subject's notability.

I suspect the ploy in taking a vacation, assuming for the sake of theory that he IS viewbotting (there's no substantiation currently, but I've been aware of a loophole where streamers would have someone they know personally viewbot their streams on their behalf so as to create plausible deniability with Twitch, and Khronos is the type to absolutely do that because the bigger a streamer Jason becomes, the bigger a janny he becomes by extension), is that when he comes back he can blame the vacation for the drop in views instead of being immediately exposed for viewbotting.

Alternatively, he's hoping to find another functional source of viewbots during this week off, one which isn't being detected by Twitch's systems.

Why did he even get into college for entomology in the first place? Trick question, he's an aimless niggerbrain with the soul of an Indian and daddy's credit card, that's why

I like the theory that he only attended that college for the sole purpose of fucking around in Second Life. Feels like that might actually be the absolute funniest potential reveal in this entire thread.

Everything he does is so unbelievably half-assed, I'm surprised that he even possesses an entire ass to eat.

I've actually got more to rant about regarding Heartbound's prologue. The prologue is the only decent bit of writing and character development in the entirety of Heartbound. In fact, those first ~15 lines of dialogue are so decent compared to everything else that I choose to believe he stole it from somewhere. No evidence, just gut feeling. Because, you can kinda see where he's trying to take the dialogue, kinda see what Baron's relationship is to Lore. The dog's dialogue has him act like an escapism machine with the way he says fantastical shit to take Lore's mind off of things. So I can excuse Baron being cringe in the prologue in the same way you can excuse the FF10 laughing scene for being cringe - it's cringe on purpose. The point of Baron is that he ultimately makes Lore smile. The point of Tidus doing fake-laughs is so that he can have some real laughs just a minute later. It's some genuine writing, for a few minutes... until Heartbound casually shits itself with the worst inspection text at the wrong times, as well as many, many more obnoxious little tone-killing sins.

Plus, when you realize that the dog is fucking dead, rather than feeling deeply attached to the subsequent search for Baron's magic crystals or whatever, you just end up feeling that the dog's death is on the same level as an enemy in The Last of Us tragically screaming a random name when you blast his friend's head off with a shotgun. You never really knew them, but the game is trying really really hard to manipulate you into feeling bad anyways. Same thing with the random shit that goes on in the furry level - just loads more surface-level emotional manipulation. Genuinely feels like he wrote a quick draft with extremely basic one-line plot advancements, spent 8 hours putting the draft into GameMaker because he has to work with gigantic hideous lines of code full of magic numbers just to make it work, then realized that rewriting everything would require him to untangle the shitty magic numbers-infested code, so he decided it was perfect anyways and gave up on expanding the first draft any further. Jason GameEnds Ferrets has worse work ethic than most fanfiction authors.
