This is the reboot that imo was done at least in part to wash the stench of bronies off the franchise. Hasbro is pretty unlikely to abandon the MLP franchise entirely, as it is one of their oldest and most successful properties, despite the rather lackluster performance of the latest installment.

Hasbro has been doing MLP in some form since 1981 and is unlikely to stop any time soon.

I meant a live-action movie, something bronies were expecting since 2012 but for some reason never happened, it was the right time since MLP as a franchise was a it's peak in popularity and as a cultural icon, as far as i know there's a copule movies based on G4, but i think they came a little too late, because certainly they didn't set the world on fire like the show did all the way back on 2010.

As for the movie itself, i think there's a 50/50 chance it will be based on G4, good lord, imagine a carbon copy of Alvin and the chipmunks or The Smurfs with ponies and a ton of dead brony memes :sighduck:, on one hand i can imagine Hasbro being dumb/desperate enough to try to capitalize whatever is left of the brony fandom one last time.

If they decide to do a complete reboot in order to distance themselves from the brony fandom, i guess we can't blame them, if anything, it could be funny to see whatever is left of the fandom complaining that the new movie doesn't cater to them.

If they're going to do a live action My Little Pony movie, it should be an isekai (which is an ancient Japanese term for 'magical world' - didn't you baka gaijins know?) starring Jerry Messing in the lead role.

Knew it had to be fake days ago, no one but me seemed to bother to check the source cited to see it was blatantly paywalled on some literal who’s personal site, plus every rumor slipping out before now’s pointed to Hasbro being five years late to respond to MLP’s asian success meaning they’ll likely torpedo that overnight by pandering way too hard.

A good decade ago, /mlp/'s "Anon in Equestria" general had a greentext that did this exact idea taken to its logical conclusion.

The premise was that so many neckbeard rapefugees were constantly falling through portals to Equestria that the government there had to effectively set up concentration camps.

The saturation was so wild, but above that, it was so genericly perverted, it was literally always the same:

"Self-insert visits X girl (anthro/humanized/Feral), they are madly in love with one another because "reasons" yet don't confess because autists don't know how, he finds something shameful, like a hobby (still remember one I read on the board a decade ago so retarded about pinkie pie having a knitting hobby and being ashamed of it - leading to sex somehow) that X is hiding, X's run away, self-insert follows and confesses, mandatory graphic sex copy pasted out of some cheap porn, "real" confession, X is now an obedient sex slave."

What always made me laugh, though, was how comically generic the male leads were. Every time, you'd get a "protagonist" that felt like they were pulled straight from a stock photo website - utterly bland descriptions, like a human-shaped piece of white bread. It was as if Getty Images had opened a line of romance leads, like this:

It's honestly hilarious. Even in their most deranged, porn-addled daydreams, they still can’t imagine being anything more than painfully "normal." Instead of creating interesting dynamics, they just lobotomize the female characters, turning them into dependent, hollow props.
 
If jewbro was smart and they know what is best for them and their franchise of deformed horses they will stay as far away as possible from g4, possibly returning to g1 or g3.
Some Midnight Castle special remake would appeal to a new generation of girls of a wide age range without losing the franchise's direction, besides Sex deviant bronyfags are allergic to any generation prior to the FIM era.
 
I remember a time far past, a time before the Ainur sung The Great Music. In this time Fallout: Equestria was for some ungodly reason held up as not just the greatest MLP fanfic but possibly one of humanities greatest literary achievements.
Holy shit was it bad.
It was bad, it’s was dumb, but I’ll be honest it had enough going on in terms of themes it was trying to work with that I don’t feel bad for having read and enjoyed the whole thing as a fourteen year old edgy retard. But still, even today I could give a long list of better MLP fanfics lmao.
Looking back, it was certainly one of the fanfics of all time. But don’t get me started on Kkat, that nigga has a thread here for a reason…

Fallout: Equestria was very much a product of it's time in terms of it's style of writing "humor" and the novelty of the idea as a whole. The story isn't over 650,000 words because there's such a wide breath of content that needs to be told, it's based off Fallout 3 for christ sake. Rather it's a direct consequence of Kkat not knowing how to edit to save their life. It's telling when the only stallion of the main cast with a female protagonist is the most likable and least insufferable of the whole bunch.

I read a side fic titled Found Family in the past couple years which in addition to being 1/10th the length of the main fic, actually made me care about each of the characters, their relationships and experiences.
