All his jobs are amazing, interesting, and he loved that company. Then he's about to get demoted or fired, and suddenly it was always boring and soul-crushing, and he left on his own terms to pursue fake game development.

One thing worth mentioning is that @Mario Cerame was interviewed by Quin to see if this breaks Twitch ToS. Mario says that Twitch might give Pirate a different contract with a different ToS because he's such a huge streamer. "Twitch ToS might be superseded by our written agreement" or something to that extent.
Businesses in the real world when money changes hand work to negotiate contracts instead of using a 'contract of adhesion' like a ToS that regular people use. They want everyone to think it's fair but will give high profile users like Jason privileges like overlooking something like this. Because 'Twitch Hype Train World Record' is a good headline and they might not even care because they still get paid.
