Sam has held a personal grudge against schadenfreude for a few years at the very least. He's used King Cobra as an example on pgl before and got mad at tayleigh when she was on fishtank for being a fan of Cobes. Yes it's hypocritical but no not due to Harland. The boomer thing is obvious, he's joked about hating boomers for years. I think they even asked for call ins about boomers after the previous show so I don't think it was last minute spurred on by Harland.
To me this was just Sam getting his ego bruised up and looking bad for a bit. Comments about any larger cascading negative impact are silly and I don't believe this bad podcast has bigger implications for Sam realistically.

In Sam's defense, I think he was actually very funny back in the day, and he did build a platform where other more talented people could shine, I still watch the vertical videos from time to time and other old MDE stuff and have a good time, but since he started making dad simulator videos the fanbase changed and became a cult. It got even worse after the Idubbz doc, where I suspect most of the Samtrannies ITT come from. I remember back then MDE fans used to troll Sam non-stop and it was part of the joke and I think it made him a better comedian, now they all just pretend him burping into the mic is le comedy gold and call you a tranny jew if you don't think otherwise. They are very salty because this crashout interrupted the non-stop glazing ITT and go into defense mode, if this was 10-15 years ago everyone would be making edits of Sam in a jungle looking like a gorilla or something, it could be the start of something similar to the shooter meme, but they preffer to run damage control for their e-daddy.
