I think everything he said about hating the audience for ruining things during fishtank s01's ending was genuine.
Never watched it but could tell he dislikes the fans from the $50 superchats and stuff when he was streaming and I really can't blame him honestly. Not to say the haydurs are any better. He's like honey to autistic flies but his vinegar also keeps them coming lol.

One of the weirdest followings in history. Needs to be studied by future generations. I know two well adjusted guys that follow him not including myself but i do follow him :^) so i know it isn't all freaks but gyatt damn...The fella is like a magnet for weirdo's.

My God it's identical to my strawman LOL
When I watched videos about David Lucas being a fat nigger I noticed a lot of psychoanalysis about who was winning each microagression in the comments. I think it's a newish vein of podcast viewers that have been so attuned to meaningless conversation that they try to analyze the power dynamics of every sentence instead of just laughing at or with someone.

Nick on suicide watch.
Because it's not funny and I don't think it's even meant to be funny. It's just sneering politically-motivated derision with a thin coat of paint. People are stupid as fuck and all they see is the paint. In some cases, people know what it is, but they go along with the gaslighting anyway because they want to feel like they're the ones doing it.

Sam absolutely bullies people, I don't think anybody is suggesting otherwise. But "exact same"? No way. You really can't see the difference between the two things? The styles, the overall honesty and masculinity of the thing, etc? Does one not seem quite a bit more like throwing your rock and hiding your hand, perhaps?

Guys I think mde is cooked. Nick tried to play it off as a joke but you can tell from his eyes darting around that he's seriously worried. Also wtf that Alex guy is seriously trying to tell everyone the "phones been ringing off the hook"? Yeah right dude, I can tell from nicks inflection that he's shook.
I didn't really expect anything less than cope and deflection. Notice the attempt to spin the conversation into the absurd "Oh Sam gets a little too rowdy on a podcast and all of the sudden our careers are over, yah right dude" And Shulz sarcastically dropping "Yah the LA Comedy scene was gonna welcome us with open arms"

First off isn't that exactly what Sam has been doing the past couple of years doing cracker minstrel shows to impress David Lucas and trying to suck up to Shane Gillis? Anyway that's beside the point, I guess some people are trying to say it's this career ending thing, I'm not, but even if I was, is Nick really gonna sit there and say Sam coming on a semi-mainstream comic's show and making a total ass of himself and the entourage he brought with him isn't at least a little embarassing?

What’s the lore behind this?

For context, he did this interview while the show was actively airing, among other banal twitter slapfights as mentioned by yoursavior. Adult Swim had some internal strife from the bad PR (Lazzo had greenlit the show, but then figures like Tim Heidecker threw their weight around and pressured execs to remove what they called 'alt-right propaganda'.) and they ended up cancelling World Peace after only one season. Most of the artists they collaborated with other than John Maus cut ties with MDE, denouncing them as soon as the water turned red with accusations of being nazis. None of this was helped by Sam going out of his way to show his ass on social media while people told AS to pull the plug, so many people blamed him directly for its cancellation.

Nick and Charls had a project called "Automile" already greenlit with Adult Swim, but it fell through after the cancellation; Charls believed for years that Sam had not signed off on their show or somehow gotten it directly pulled, which wasn't the case. Regardless, Sam and Charls were on the outs for a while, and only reconciled after Charls held a drunken livestream in which he cried (literally) about Sam blowing up all of their careers and getting them blacklisted. Nick never seemed to harbor any real grudge over it that I've seen, he made fun of people thinking he's mad about the Gorilla Nest on Scuffed Realtor as seen a couple of pages ago.

LOL didn't this nigger do a skit with Sam Hyde once Sam got a new twitter handle? Didn't Sam call Nick "the new tucker carlson" or some shit? I really wonder what soured on their gay relationship affair. Nick may be right in this one instance, but a snake regardless.

Nick a parasite who attacks his closest allies at a whim just because he feels like it.

Again you guys are really going to say anything to push some narrative on this. If youre a person trying to say that the interview was anything other then kind of silly and embarrassing for Sam hyde, youre probably a nut hugger. However, if you think this is somehow gonna crater the show or mde as a whole, your probably a little sick in the head.

Its really just someone having a melty at a really bad time, which happens to a lot of people. Really id say its only really a showing of the content of his character.

I think he said that because Harland literally lives in LA. I don't think anyone else Sam has collab'd with counts as being in the LA comedy scene.
I mean the implication is obvious either way "Oh yah dude, looking like complete assholes is totally gonna sink our careers and we'll never hang out with Rogan and his posse, all because of the dude from Half-Baked" with a dismissive eye roll is the tone here, again as if Sam's not been going for broke trying to negotiate some kind of mainstreams angle for himself ever since Fishtank took off with normies.

That's photoshopped. The real post he made was about Shane Gillis, not Sam. Though his points do pretty much apply to Sam as well.

I'm just not buying this "HARLAND CLOWNED SAM HYDE" thing.
It's just sad cope, basically. They think they can say it a million times and then it'll magically become true. The whole situation is a nothingburger, basically, but people who have a hateboner for Sam have to treat everything like it's a gigantic L. This is particularly stupid because there's much lower hanging fruit to target when it comes to Sam's retardation. Trashing an unfunny has-been Hollywood nobody's shitty podcast studio barely registers as a blip on the radar there.

With this thing, people also keep saying Sam should have "hung" or "riffed" or whatever the fuck, but you cannot really win in a situation where a sneering little politically-raged-up jew is doing everything in his power to ridicule you and refusing to break character. Saul Alinsky himself said that ridicule is man's most potent weapon, there is no defense, etc. In this case it's even more obnoxious because you have this whole army of braindead people who are committed to pretending it's just lolrandom humor and Harland totally didn't have a bone to pick.

It was monumentally stupid for Sam to go on the podcast but once he was there, flipping the table became the only funny move. Manhandling Harland was much more of a bad look. It would have been funnier for him to just sit there with a little smirk going "that's my gorilla nest." It would have provided a lot more plausible deniability for the rageout too. But honestly - whatever. I cannot bring myself to give a shit. Nobody is going to care about this in a couple of weeks except people who already rabidly hate Sam.

I think Sam should of just went with the flow of Harland's show instead of trying to fight it tooth and nail because he's worried about some comedian getting one up on him. It's like swimming against a strong current, you're probably going to lose against it. Sam could of just went along with the tone of the show and when Harland said "Have you ever been raped" Sam could of just smirked and said something like "It's funny you mentioned that" He could of also told Nick and Charls to jump in the main chair at times and talk to Harland which would of taken the focus off Sam and would of been entertaining as Nick and Charls are funny. And it's a better use of them instead of them sitting off camera.

Later on, Sam could just say Harland is mad funny and we're fans and that he got us with some good lines. It would show that Sam can take a joke and doesn't need to control every situation.

Now that it's been pointed out this podcast appearance probably happened around the third week of June, I would like to point out something else:
awbmjv[1].webp
This was the same episode where Sam said you shouldn't consume any media about schadenfreude (while Fishtank was still airing, no less)

a semi-mainstream comic
Harland is extremely mainstream, he just didn't do much publicly for a long time and people kind of forgot about him. He was just at one of Kill Tony's arena shows and completely destroyed David Lucas live, on David's turf. He's been friends with Rogan for like 23 years, and knows basically everybody in comedy.

Regardless of whether you think what Sam did was funny or bad, it was an absolutely fucking retarded thing to do to a guy who is infinitely bigger than you, lets you on his podcast, wasn't being an asshole, and could help you with connections more than probably anybody else Sam knows personally. Just because a lot of you guys in this thread didn't know who Harland was before this does not mean he isn't massive in the comedy scene. He started in comedy with Norm Macdonald in canada and has been doing it for fucking ever, not to mention the movies he's been in like Dumb and Dumber and Freddy Got Fingered.
