Nick must have got a Groupon for his lawyer. Who has a lawyer represent them for a non moving fix it ticket? Real simple….fix the issue within 10 days and it gets dismissed with a small court fee. Or pay the fine and don’t get it registered. There are really no other arguments. But we know nick has a history of not paying his fines or registration fees. At this point I am convinced he is evading taxes as well.

Maybe it's somehow risking affecting his criminal case so he's trying to make a deal so that it doesn't. 🤔
I dunno how it would though, just only reason I can think of that he'd need a lawyer for something simple.

If they're telling the truth, it's not the judge. The judge can't be in a dozen breakout rooms at the same time. It's just Nick and the prosecutor plea bargaining. That's not public. It does have the look of a sudden panicked change of plans. "The public is here to see something public!" "OH NO SHUT IT DOWN CANCEL THE HEARINGS!"

I wonder if those are combining with this and its got Nick sweating it'll violate his probation if he somehow turns not paying tickets into a wrist slap.

Surely at some point they punish you for simply refusing to pay your tickets.

Could this be why he’s retained White, because this minor traffic matter might jeopardise his stay of adjudication? After all, why else appoint criminal defence counsel for an expired tabs ticket, unless there's a broader risk at play? Could Balldo's downfall be something as simple as his own contempt towards traffic laws?

There are specific programmes aimed at professionals who have substance misuse issues. Talbott in Atlanta was always the famous one that specialized in doctors/medical professionals/pilots, etc.

People who worked in those programmes invariably took the view that doctors, lawyers, etc. tended to me much harder to treat than the average joe because they were much better at justifying and rationalizing why their drinking/drug use wasn't a problem.

Consequently, they tended to have much more rigorous programmes than you get for the average crackhead. Much stricter, much more intensive, etc. Stanton Peele has made the argument that Talbott's programmes have a ridiculously high rate of suicide among patients and he attributes this to the 'take no prisoners' approach they had towards addiction treatment. (Talbott devised the AMA's programme for addicted physicians, so if you were a doctor with a habit, chances were, if you could afford it, you'd go to the gold standard. I think they went because they were better than regular rehabs at helping doctors get their licence back.)

Anyway, I think Nick needs to go to Talbott for treatment. He wouldn't be able to pull the wool over there eyes, and the chances of him necking himself when he failed would be hugely increased.

The names are practically interchangeable with the concept of a rehab center. A gazillion prominent people & professionals are very very familiar with it.
