It's not faked because it doesn't have to be - it runs because it's literally just a tablet running an OS his game engine explicitly supports. There's nothing special about this fridge and it took zero effort on Jason's side to accomplish this.

how do people not understand why something called "game maker" is capable of compiling executables for different platforms
 
People are missing the forest for the trees here, i think it matters little if its faked or not because even if its real it just doesnt really means anything. Congrats, a fridge's tablet runs a title screen and the first screen of a game that has been indev for 10 years with no end in sight, and no real quality either regardless!

I completely agree, but it's also fair to point out he probably forced that slimy promo video out of his own will and not of the community.

edit: to be clear, the moment that the "challenge" was open to the community, it's possible Jason already knew it was fairly trivial to port to a smart fridge, probably by hearsay or he was envying another persons work. And he could have already tipped off someone he knows to win the challenge, and probably pushed hard on the video aspect of it.

Too egotistical to pull a stunt like that since it would make him be perceived as weak, why I think he's just stuck to the claims of being swatted over and over again because it lets him stroke his ego as some sort of Billy badass that's survived (obviously) fake attempts on his life.

No but he probably faked a swatting attempt for that same reason. AFAIK multiple people in here are waiting to hear back on police report requests to verify the validity of his claims.

That's the impression I had after seeing the video in his stream. Especially after knowing his associate was the one who put it on the smart fridge.

It's probably not "fake" but with Mald there's also some scheming behind it, which in my opinion puts it in a gross light. Almost nothing Mald says is factual, and almost nothing he does is genuine. With Mald everything is "fake" to some degree.

The dialogue system he has setup still isn't okay for an amateur. I'm and amateur. Me and my kid fuck around with game dev for fun and it didn't take us more than 10 minutes to Google the best practice and then create a way to import a spreadsheet and parse it. Dudes ego is off the chart.

Yeah it’s the 15th. That’s Tuesday.
I said the update’s probably going out Wednesday. That’s the 16th.
Because I don’t stream this Wednesday, so I can actually hammer on it all day.
There’s nothing else scheduled. Just writing. Just me sitting down and writing until it’s done.
The bottleneck isn’t code. It’s not art. It’s writing.
I do all the writing myself.
It’s a huge amount of dialogue. Multiple routes. Lots of character paths.
It takes three to four weeks every patch just to get through all the writing.
And that’s literally all the work left on Heartbound. Just writing.
Implementation takes like, an hour.
I can implement four weeks of writing in one sitting.
But the writing? That’s the hard part. That’s what I do off stream. That’s what takes time.
So yeah. Update’s not out on the 15th.
