The dialogue, and I know we've discussed this, truly is fucking cringe. The first line in his game is the dog (or the MC / Lore?) literally going "NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO".

Jason has 17 employees like he has 20 years of gamedev experience. This is just another bullshit angle to explain why he can't complete his game. "These review bombing trolls don't realize I would be starving 17 families if I finished my game." That many salaried employees would cost around a million dollars a year. If anything, he's including anyone he's ever paid for stuff related to his stream/business. Including janny contractors and a pooner that Jason doesn't let have a bank account and keeps in the basement.

How many ferrets are in need of rescue(except the ones in his possession)? I always thought they were pretty niche pets, but they are apparently so popular that they require a million dollar rescue industry.

Nope that is true... Hi has a vidya about it when he announced the restart of his game development,(I think around the february heartbound Update) he has 1 general assistant, 2 ferret nanny, and 12 moderator

As far as I'm aware, ferrets are domestic animals and do not exist in the wild. Most rescues (after a google search) seem to be "living off" of ferrets surrendered to them and caring for them/rehoming them, not strays. I'd assume there's a big number of ferret exclusive rescues because they're really difficult to care for and people often buy one because "haha funny reddit fursnake" then realize they're stinky and need a lot of attention and care to be happy and would get rid of them.

I doubt it, he seems like the type of faggot that would attract people that would translate it for free. It's pretty common among indie games really, you'll get lots of volunteers to translate it to their native tongue for you and they'll even do it free of charge. Wouldn't be hard for someone with the clout he previously built up to find people to do this properly and on the cheap. When you're that popular you tend to get the type of people that just offer you things for free.

I'm more surprised that he pays 12 moderators, why would you need such an amount and why would you pay them? You can easily moderate a chat with 1 or 2. Being generous, one more for the Steam forum and I guess one for his discord? But 12? I don't get it.

Apparently he was paying some dude in russia to translate that version, but because of the mess with russia and ukraine hasn't been able to pay them to do anything for him in ages. Of course why he would bother trickling out work to translators instead of just getting the whole thing done in one shot is beyond me, especially since context could change how translations are done later on compared to the earlier stages... not to mention it should also cost less to just do in one go instead of piecemeal.

But he's a fucking idiot.

Regarding the moderators, don't forget he's also super proud of his ban bots, which do work for him already anyway. They're probably also discord mods, so really you would actually want a handful to cover the different hours of the day for activity basically in shifts, but no that definitely doesn't require a dozen fucking mods.

edit: It's now Friday the 11th, and still no heartbound update due on the first day/week/full week/whatever of every month.
