The Mongols might have been deadly, but not particularly brutal. They did not flay children alive like the Aztecs, and more or less chilled out after a territory was conquered.

The Aztecs, like all Amerindian civilizations, were stuck in a permanent bronze age until Europeans encountered them, and were not even contemporaries of Genghis Khan or his immediate successors. The Mongols were absolute brutal by contemporary standards, and became moreso after most of them converted to Islam. They did chill out afterwards because the brutality was a terror tactic and not a religious ceremony, at least until a khanate inevitably broke apart and a new warlord had to repeat the process (see Timur killing something around 5% of the world's population without even setting foot in China).

Remember the Aztecs/Incans/Mayans and every other central/south american group got exactly what the fuck they deserved. They where all death cults that the world was a far better place fro them having been destroyed.

> video is by Fredda, a well-known Breadtuber that argues in bad faith.
> instant discard.

TBH, the three people in that thumbnail have issues worth discussing (many of which were done in this thread numerous times), but I have very little faith in Fredda.
Always feels so bad to want to see someone shit on some retards you know of then then you realize it's a disgusting breadtuber.

Great video, shame he has to be a hand-wringing faggot at the end and cry about how his wop grandfather was abused in the coal mines.

This guy makes great content on random Roman figures from the Republic, but also does retard sperging on modern politics.

18th-century finance scandals are interesting. It's amazing how many economies and fortunes got fucked up because of shit like this and the South Seas Affair.

Sam Aronow, for his 100 episode celebration, has posted an examination of Jews in Weimar (comments disabled of course)
Outside of directly mentioning the Holocaust and Israel’s war of independence (ie the most controversial shit) props have to be given for tackling often under-recorded events that get chimped out about, even if they come from a self-confessed ethnic perspective

I don't know if the video itself is of any quality or not and I don't care, but I just got recommended a video about the soviet union made by a japanese guy presented using TTS and yukkuris (please pick the original audio track in moonspeak, it's a gem)
It's just so unreal

Atun-Shei is genuinely more obsessed with the Confederacy than even the most diehard 'South Will Rise Again' types.

I’m biased because I’m partially Hispanic, but Egypt keeps hogging all the pyramid attention. Like, come on guys: Mesoamericans built pyramids too!

Nobody cares about stepped pyramids because they're relatively easy to do with enough manpower and minimal technical expertise. Now pulling off a smooth sided fairly regular pyramid is much more difficult. The Egyptians also built stepped pyramids until they figured out how to transition to smoothed ones millennia before the meso Americans built their first known stepped pyramid.

The Mesoamericans decided to adorn their pyramids in simply separate fashions, choosing carvings and stucco. Also they were civic structures in more or less constant use compared to the Egyptian's which were just tombs and Pharoah cult sites. A better comparison would be the Ziggurats of Mesopotamia which fulfilled similar governmental and religious purposes.

The vast majority of the Union soldiery were white last time I checked. Guess their sacrifice in the abolishment of slavery and the preservation of the union ain't shit.
I'm not arsed to actually watch his video but what does he actually argue for? The sneaky thing usually alot of these leftist people argue for us for things that most people agree with on a basic argumentive front but can easily be picked apart by anyone familiar with the subject matter.

Adding to my previous post, the Ziggurats are also fascinating/cool and don’t get nearly enough attention in popular culture (although it’s sort of understandable as there are less of them and are much more poorly preserved).

From the perspective of African Americans and Confederates the US Civil War was about abolition from its beginning.

Most of the video is just friendly conversations with black reenacters.
