This is tangential, but I hate this guy and I hate posh British accents. Every single time I hear one from a YouTuber, I go and find their oldest video (ideally like a decade ago) and it turns out that it's an affectation and not their natural way of speaking. Here's Josh 7 years ago, notice the major difference:

It's a mode of speaking specifically meant to hide the speaker's regional accent to help with clarity. It may help you understand him easier, but it allows you to understand how much of a cunt he is in turn.

America had its own version too for cinema.

But yeah, that "posh" accent is more or less learnt rather than natural. I'm unsure if you use it long enough it just becomes your default or what, but it's like permanently erasing a part of yourself just to sound like some posh pretentious prick. Maybe there's some effect on the psyche by doing that. Mald changed his voice to sound more masculine and authoritative so he genuinely believes that. Same for how adopting RP makes Hayes thinks he's smarter than he actually is.

Of course that's the case. I don't believe for a second that game logic is dependent on authentication services/e-shop services or any other third party services and cannot be disabled by flags in helm/docker deployment. It would be insanely niggerlicious design if that were the case, that would go against all reasons to use micro-services to begin.
There might be however some libraries used in game logic services that licensing prohibits them being distributed to players for some reasons. Still I doubt it is the case for most games. It is just convenient excuse.

I never heard of PirateSoftware (Mald) until this Stop Killing Games drama, so I've only seen a few clips of him talking, but my immediate reaction to his voice was that it also sounded put on. It sounded artificially deep/manly to me which fits with what you say. I didn't bother digging deeper then, but since you mention it now, I went and found a clip from 2017 where, sure enough, he sounds very different. Imagine that.

His voice isn't fake his mic settings boost the depth of his voice but if there wasn't any depth then there'd be nothing to boost and it would sound weird. His cadence and general smugness is definitely practiced though.

The Frasier Crane accent. I remember me and most of my friends thinking that Frasier was supposed to be British or something weird since he spoke like that.

One of my older cousins who was a fan of Frasier told me, "No, he's just stuck up. It's a snobby, rich accent."

Ahh, now it makes sense. Whenever you watch tv shows from the 60s and 70s, stuff like Columbo, for instance, anytime there's a rich, old money character on the show they'll always talk like that.
