Vietnam was fought with the most retarded ROE on earth because we didn't want to escalate with the Soviets and despite what the movies tell you, fighting was sparse, limited to pushing commie scum out of their hole and leaving, at which point the commies simply returned and set up shop again.

This is the dumbest thing imaginable, the cold war exists bro. A war where literally NOTHING HAPPENED a war does not HAVE to have an attack to instigate it just like how an attack does not have to instigate a war. The cold war was literally 90% espionage.

And btw, I'm not arguing of being in favor of that lmao, my entire argument is that the definition of a war is arbitrary because depending on who you ask and who's coping you'll get a different answer.
 
This thread shows me that a lot of people need to get off the internet and stay the fuck away from the media. It's amazing how even as the media continues to lose influence, their approval ratings continue to tank and as more and more people want journalists to be held accountable they still have a modicum of sway over the American public as they can still continue to get people freaked out.
