I think it's about 50/50. And they build on each other.

If he imagines the devil called him from a 666 phone number and posts about it, it inspires weens to spoof a phone number and actually do it.

And if a ween calls in claiming to be his demon clone, he'll keep imagining demon clones calling him.

It's pure insanity and its glorious.

John has commented about it, I think in a video, and says it's just the number he was assigned and would change it if he could. Also something about it not being the mark of the beast.
