What she doesn't need is a pooner chair, hrt, a constant stream of drugs and an environment that enables and strengthens her anti-social tendencies. In a true communist utopia, she would get the help she needs, which is the exact opposite of what she wants.
Remember the nuclear tantrum she was throwing every time her parents tried to get her the help she needed? Yeah, I don't think she'd enjoy actually living in a communist utopia. Vicky, sweetie, a working communist society needs workers, not pooners that rot in bed and post lukewarm takes on twitter all day

Slow down, Vicky! You're going to give yourself skin failure!

If you look at the time stamps on these tweets, by the way, she was up all night last night -- you have waves of posts at 11PM, 1AM, 4AM eastern time. Maybe prednisone, maybe adderall?

I love Vicky so much. She genuinely thinks everyone else is so stupid that they would need a genius like her to break down the idea that under capitalism, some people have more access to resources than others and those resources include medical care. Who could ever come to that conclusion without Comrade Vicky to spell it out in dumb-speak?

At the same time, even though she’s totally a genius sharing her bits of wisdom with us uncultured morons, she’s simultaneously too stupid to realize that most well-adjusted late 20s adults aren’t at an age where they still have a bunch of uncomfortable, unanswered questions about sex. Most people spend their twenties getting comfortable with themselves and figuring that stuff out, not shitting themselves while cosplaying as a college freshman for a decade. Her lack of self awareness is awesome.

And we can't leave out this classic:

Just for the sake of it, citric acid allergy is obviously extremely rare and joint pain isn't one of the symptoms. Shocking I know.

From the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology:

Q) Would citric acid trigger an allergic reaction in someone with a citrus allergy?

A) The short answer is “no” as citric acid does not provoke an immune response, a requirement for allergy.

Cause you know being allergic to dust isn't that extraordinary..

Citric acid allergy doesn't exist. Your entire body is powered by the citric acid cycle (Krebs cycle), same as all the other animals. Also, allergies require a protein.

I checked Vicky’s GFM - people have donated $ 400 in the last eleven days. It’s not a lot, but it’s plenty more than she deserves. There are several donations of 10 or 15 bucks each, so it’s probably from people who don’t have much to begin with. Makes me downright MATI tbh.

She had an offer of a couch to sleep on, but it was just too much. Better just fall asleep on the sidewalk wherever you are, Vicki.

Isn't it awful when you are street homeless and you're offered shelter, but you're not allowed to bring your toys?

Just a reminder to the thread, she got her wheelchair for an achey hip. And now she's missed out on an apartment and a couch to sleep on because her clumsy attempts at using it to manipulate don't work.

She has the means to go to the flattest, most wheelchair accessible city in the US. She could probably even find a contender with a bougie private univesity for her to flail around in for a couple of classes if she's hell-bent on keeping up the student LARP.

Champaign-Urbana is one of the most accessible cities in the country, 100% flat, with cheap housing, easy public transportation, and a flagship state university campus, complete with plenty of Midwestern liberals who'll think they're being very fancy and citified by catering to the whims of a real live New York City disabled girl. And just a few hours' train ride away from Chicago if you need to do something not offered by the university town. There are 2-3 bedroom apartments there for under $1k/month.

It's unreal to me how Vicki tries to make her trust fund stretch to paying for hotels in NYC instead of just getting a little place somewhere cheap. A university town is a great choice, because there are always new suckers to swindle.

I think part of the problem is that, given her NYU track record, she's got 0 chance of admission to any college that she thinks is worthy of her. At this point she'd have to drop back to community college for a year or two first, and I don't think she or her parents could handle that loss of face. They probably put a lot of value on being an NYU "student" and attending somewhere less ritzy would involve admitting she flunked out.

Tried explaining to the husband why, out of all the cows on this site, it’s Vicks that fascinates me the most. Had to think a while but:

I think she’s my fave because there’s an almost literary quality to her whole saga - born into wealth, international privileged upbringing, beautiful & the world was her oyster. But since she was also born into a cursed, hedonistic age that rewards and valorizes character weakness and dysfunction (and that medicalizes teenage angst) her flawed personality rendered her incapable of making any sensible decisions. Instead, she decided to emulate the customs of the nation where she actually grew up (the enigmatic country of Tumblr). Cue tragic downfall and the weeping Greek chorus (but they’re LMAO-ing).

And she fascinates me because I just don’t get any of it - her life is such a miserable shitshow, yet she clings to it with such enthusiasm. Why?! Is it really just sunk cost fallacy?

And how on earth did we end up with young adults like her? No inner locus of control, entitlement, faux commie ideals (but out of pure stupidity and narcissism), insane ideas about science, oppression Olympics, appeals to authority (but idiotic authorities), absolutely no resilience nor any insight about her own agency and responsibilities. She’s such a cliché that she really could be a character in a novel. A terrible YA novel, or maybe a satire by someone like Lionel Shriver.

In addition, she’s my favorite because she’s fat and really fucking dumb.

My favorite cows are always the ones who really had a shot at becoming someone. People who've lucked out not just at birth but over and over again, and who throw their luck away on purpose. People who have families that cared about them and supported them for years, who went to good schools.

Some threads here just make me sad. Trashy people who come from trash and never had even the tiniest chance of succeeding at life, people with a low IQ from low socioeconomic status families with fucked up personalities, those just aren't my favorite threads. They can be a fascinating window in on generational poverty and addiction, but they're not fun to read.

People like Vicki (or Becky Gerber, or Dave Muscato) are hilarious because they have had years and years where they could have stopped the LARP and decided to grow up a bit, and everything in their life would have gone fine from there. They might not have achieved anything close to their parents' lofty dreams for them, but they could have, with the resources at their disposal, have achieved some degree of satisfying vocation and an independent life.

They're so pleasant to watch because it was 100% voluntary. They do it to themselves. They're living the lives they sincerely want to live, and in so doing, provide entertainment to dozens of us autists.

The concept of privilege is pretty much radioactive in today's discourse, but I want you all to run through a little thought experiment with me.

Imagine you find yourself in one of the smaller situations Vicky has found herself in: you wasted months of rent money and now your landlord is about to evict you. You're unemployed and you have no ready way to make money yourself to fix the situation. What resources can you draw on? Vicky had daddy clean up the mess with his money and move her into a new place. If you're an incredibly fortunate person maybe you have loving parents that could do the same for you to get you out of a one-time crisis, but almost certainly it will hurt them financially more than it did the Markoff family.

It's just as likely you have family who would want to help, but can't pay your bills for you. Maybe you find yourself couch surfing with them or with friends, but now you have an eviction on your record that will make future renting harder. This consequence will follow you around either way: either in the form of reduced credit score, poor renting prospects, or strained relationships with friends/family.

Vicky doesn't even consider this as help from her parents. If anything she sees it as evidence of their stupidity: they wouldn't have had to inconvenience themselves if they just put her a Manhattan apartment like she asked for. She sees it as support the way you might see your parents offering to let you sleep in your old room when you come over for xmas as support: something you're already entitled to and less than the bare minimum.

Vicky has grown up with access to wealth, luxuries and social circle opportunities you could have turned into a self-sustaining bona fide rich person lifestyle by age 30. Multiple shots at NYU degrees and socialising with captains of industry mean she could have a huge stock portfolio built on insider tips and a high income/high status job even in glamorous careers like curating an art gallery, working for a fashion house, or working in the film industry.

She could have "failed" and accessed the same lifestyle by marrying a fellow rich idiot who did all of the above hard work for her, and even still had a high status job in academia if she wanted.

She could have even "failed" at that and had her parents continue to support her financially and emotionally just by not choosing to antagonise them with her disability and pooner larps.

What's even more wild: she could have failed at that and kept her current lifestyle, and maybe even have had the option to move back home if she just refrained from trying to turn her sister into another pooner headcase.

For some people, there's no margin for error if they want to be successful. A bad grade, a missed rental payment, or an unfortunate accident can wipe out their hard work and set them back years. Vicky was so secure that it's actually impressive that she found a way to fuck it up this bad.

Oh fuck off Vicky you're in an air conditioned room. I doubt you ever open a window because ou're also intolerant to fresh air and literally everything else goo for you.

Further fuck off you have no idea what homelessness is like, granted neither do I but I'd wager I've been far closer:

I'm also not sure what IIH is or why if its fixed by a wedge pillow she's taking 240 pills over an unspecified period for it.

She's coming up with the most ridiculous takes and I can't tell if she's doing it on purpose but anyone who donated to her GFM must be regretting it right now, or probably not cos they must have been pretty dumb to donate in the first place.

I think she is just throwing out the most tangentially-related-to-homelessness issues she can to make people feel sorry for her without realising things like if you don't have a place to sleep at all you are generally not bothered about pillows.

Over here homeless people are thrown out of hostels for the dumbests reasons then have that called being "voluntarily homeless" rendering you ineligible for public housing. You aren't allowed to stay in many hostels during in the day anyway. Oh and those hostels charge the council significantly more than private rent for providing shitty, unstable accommodation for 12 hours of the day. Its infuriating, but I mention this because its extremely easy once you've fallen through the social safety net to end up in a pretty hopeless situation.

I'm glad she's not using resources actual homeless people need but I'd wager any actually disabled people who follow her have skirted far closer. Then I look at her comments, e.g. this:

And wonder why there isn't even the slightest pushback. Then I remember we live in a world where pushback is violence and the result is useless people like Vicky.

[Don't say it gamp. Just don't fucking say it. Don't say the 'least selfish thing you can choose is to finish a suicide'. Nobody will like it.]
In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Consider the forum's current skellyweight world champion, Nick Rekieta, except you can only laugh at Nick's self-destruction for so long before remembering that he's also ruined the lives of five innocent kids. Vicky has only fucked over Vicky. Maybe it was kinda hard on her parents, but their millions of dollars will comfort them.

IIH is a female-specific mysterious headache disease. It is often triggered by weight gain.

Treatment includes a healthy diet, salt restriction, and exercise.[2] The medication acetazolamide may also be used along with the above measures.[2] A small percentage of people may require surgery to relieve the pressure.[2]

As for her prescription woes, when my doctor screws up my prescription, I call the office or talk to the pharmacist. Why didn't she do that when it was dispensed? Could it be....

The high for New York today is 78 Fahrenheit. Low of 71.
That's... not really that warm, is it? A 1-second internet search suggests that heat/lack of AC starts to become dangerous at 90 degrees.
NYC certainly isn't going to be opening cooling stations or whatever at 78.
