The people on the ground are mostly illegals, or the children of illegals. They really don't have an option other than to sit back and wait to be deported. The democrat party doesn't have an option either, because every illegal detained, and deported is one less vote come the midterms. That fact might not matter in very liberal LA, but these ICE raids are going on all over the country. At this rate purple areas will start to turn into solid red ones. That's bad news for democrats.
They have a first ammendment right to record official acts of local, state, or federal law enforcement while they're on duty or whatever the phrasing is because it's a matter of public interest.
