We know Nick uses Signal to send texts. This is an indicator that the file was downloaded from Signal today (so someone else texted it to him).
If you use Signal and someone else does not, you can still view / download images and texts they send to you.

Charitably, you could assume it was used for homeschooling anatomy. If you want to actually teach anatomy, textbooks would probably be far more practically useful than a model skeleton though. There are so many more systems in the human body than the skeletal one.
