The saddest part of all of this:
The children were not crying
They know that Father's favored bliss
Is his druggy brain cells dying

What I want to know is what profits Kandiyohi County going to the mat over the body cam footage? The taxpayers are going to have to pay to defend the lawsuit and if they lose they will have to pay for the plaintiffs side of things too.

Is saving Nick from embarrassment worth all of that?
the DOJ protects its own. at the end of the day, nicky is a lawyer (his current legal status not withstanding). They couldn't ignore the blatant fuckery he was doing which is why he was charged, but do you really think that anybody else who wasn't on the inside, even as loosely as balldo is would get the soft treatment he did? Anybody else would have completely lost custody of their children, would have gotten closer to 10 years than 5, and not have their sentence suspended. For fucks sake, he had enough party drugs in that house to fuel a week-long orgy in a hollywood mansion, and his kids tested positive for having them in their system, plus all the guns and booze sitting out in the open within reach of the children and the general mess of a state the house was in. There is absolutely no good reason they went easy on him, they did so because he is/was one of them, however loosely.

this is their attempt to further prevent any embarrasment of the justice system by proxy. Although it's really transparent what they're doing, and enough details have come out so they look bad no matter what. They might as well just give up the sauce at this point.

Imagine hating your children, your literal genetic legacy, little humans that you helped create, because they get in your way of partying.
Yeah, no.

The first year after we had our first, my wife and I got a hotel room and planned a bar crawl for our anniversary.

We got to the end of our first drink and called it cause it felt too weird to leave our kid with my sister. We just went home and got our kid

Depends on what "presented" is interpreted to mean. If they're way off-base, and "presented" doesn't require a formal offer live in court, and excising certain exhibits from the record is improper, great!
I mean I guess I'd phrase it this way, if filing exhibits in support of a motion with the court isn't "presenting evidence" what term would you use to describe this action?

Nick claims that police intervention in his affairs was due to nothing related to drugs, but due to complaints for unspecified "other things."
Good thing we have the search warrant for his arrest that proves that the lying faggot is indeed a lying faggot.

His fucking niggardly tactics of trying to spin this and rewrite history are all the more reason for us to see the bodycam footage.

He's a belligerent faggot that had no respect for the law or the people meant to uphold or enforce it. If you got in the way of his fun, he had 'clever' (for him) little names for you. Or apparently wishing death upon you via an STI. Even when he was practicing, he wasn't what I would refer to as a good lawyer.

Plenty of work for Hardin though. With a fat payday at the end if he wins. I would imagine this case is catnip for a lawyer whose practice was primarily about Freedon of Information. Between this and Monty's lawsuit I imagine Kandiyohi County is going to be seeing alot of Hardin the Hardship.

Why was this hidden by the county? Simple: Nick's Slap-on-the-wrist sentence will make the entire county look bad if this gets out.

Imagine how shitty your legal system will look when that footage is publicized and this relatively famous man is still wandering around with his children. That's exactly why Nick needed an extreme sentence but thanks to an abortion of justice nothing serious happened to him. By all accounts this is child abuse. No ifs ands or "allegedlys" The state failed these children by letting them live within the open door crack den

I am allergic to cats. I am a dog man.
Sorry, hate to say this, but you're a nigger.
Dogs are the superior quadruped. Fite me.

(But not here, please, as the thread gets enough traffic as it is).

Again, I think it's to spare the County embarrassment.

More specifically, it's in the hopes of preventing more people from asking "difficult" questions like:

- Why does this faggot have his kids back?
- Why did the CA not press the child endangerment charges (which are apparently a slam dunk)?
- Why was Nick not shot in the back of the head by Det. Pomplun and his body dumped in the lake that's on the property (okay, that last one is a joke... maybe).

You know... questions like that.

I mean, people are already asking those questions based on the two written descriptions of the bodycam posted. I think people tend to more visual and auditory than literary though. They say seeing is believing, and more people would believe by seeing.

In this stream with the blonde bimbo, Nick is acting like he's an expert on beauty and weight loss, with all the usual opining about how fat people are evil and yadayadayada. At one point when the bimbo brought up that sometimes weight gain is a sympton of childhood sex abuse, Nick was chomping at the bit to say they should "go back and fix it" and that he's "tired of these damned excuses," which is pretty fucking unhinged to say, but is about what I expected from him.

Imagine trusting this AIDS patient for advice about managing your appearance:

That's exactly my point. Balldo's dirty laundry and horrible personality being aired out in public, showing just what kind of people work in law, is a PR disaster for them, and they want this to go away as quickly and quietly as possible.

his shit really upset me, I don't know why, but... IDK, shit is just heartbreaking. As soon as I read this I stopped finding the situation (Nick being a druggie loser) funny and it just made me sad and angry.
It bothers me because why is the mother leaning on her daughter’s shoulder? Kayla should be comforting her daughter, not looking for comfort. Your kids aren’t your sob sister.

Idk I fear that Kayla views her kids as her best friends and has probably shared way more than is healthy about her crumbling marriage and dad’s new girlfriend, besides what they already witness by living in the house.

I get the idea Nick is the asshole the entire house hates, except Kayla, who cries to the kids because daddy is so mean or mad. I think Kayla is a doormat but looks for emotional support from the kids. (Fairly common scenario when you have an abusive, drunk dad/ husband). It’s awful for the kids who then feel like they need to protect mom, instead of mom protecting them. A protective mom would have got the kids the fuck out of the house long before the arrest.

And because of their weak response, he will have another opportunity to spiral out of control and fuck up his family's life even more. He's inevitably going to fuck up again because he didn't learn anything the first time around, and his family will suffer for it.

Not many men know this song, but they should.
John Cale is awesome. Gun and Momamma Scuba are great tracks of that album too. I also love his cover of Heartbreak Hotel.

It reflects poorly on them as well because the kids are back in the house with the two adults who allowed it to degenerate to that state in the first place. The cushy deal they gave Nick, the slap on the wrist as he tweets about how dumb the county is and he's not taking any of the drug counseling seriously but he still got his kids back. They're ballodguarding themselves.
